Most of the devil dogs here likely remember having to clean their weapons with CLP before turning them into the armorers who then went over them with their magic Qtips. Not sure if the other service branches used the same stuff.

Just so happens I inherited a half full gallon container of the stuff from a buddy who moved away. The manufacture date is 1988 with a test date of 1991. The stuff looks and smells just like the stuff we used. Think it would be ok to use the clean my M&P10 or just dispose of it? Anyone still using CLP?

Keep it, especially if it's the early sweeter, thicker stuff.

I'm still using some that's pre-85. Toss a stainless steel
nut or two in the jug, to disperse the teflon.

Yea, after shook up good it's thick golden syrup. Good idea with adding the stainless steel nuts as shakers! Picked up a couple of small plastic travel bottles that I filled.
