Ahrends Grips - Picture Request

So, Hawkerman - could you elaborate on the BIG difference between quarter sawn and flat sawn planks? Do you mean just visually different? or is there some strength difference inherent with one or the other?

The guy that put in my wood floor used quarter sawn Tamarack on the stairs (which cost more) and flat sawn on the rest.

In pistol or revolver grips made from wood as hard as the types of wood used by Ahrends, I don't believe there is a difference in strength, it is all is the way you like it to look. If you order from them it is a way of getting the grips you want. If you are thinking quarter sawn and they send you flat sawn you may not be happy, then again you may be pleasantly surprised.

Some Ahrends on SS...

Maple round butt Retro-Bananas on my 617-4. Very comfortable grip on one of my favorite shooters.

And I have posted this photo elsewhere, Cocobolo square butt Retro-Combats on a 66-1. These have the oil finish. Probably the most natural grip for me that I have felt. My thanks to Davel686 for them.

Cheers and many thanks to all,

Here is my Ahrends Moradillo, finger groove, round butt conversion that I bought from a fine member of this website.
The gun is a 66-2.

Kent, sell me the Cordia grips:D

I like 'em right where they are (on that 625) =)

Though those Cocobolos on the Model 25 might be homeless if I can find a good set of S&W football-relief target grips (it's a classic revolver, it deserves classic grips--none of this new-fangled CNC stuff)...

I've got a pair of Ahrends' Retro Combats -- and I love 'em - especially the round-butt version:
