Does anyone have one of these for AR-15/M4 carbines? If yes, how do you like it? I'm thinking about adding one to a Colt CR6762 in 7.62x39 (with integral Picatinny rail) for coyotes out to 200 meters. The one I'm considering is the Aimpoint CCOM4s, the recent mod with extended battery life.

What say ye?

I have no experience with them, but I'm curious why you aren't looking at an ACOG?

I've got an older one on an HBAR and was considering a newer version for my LE carbine. The carbine is currently equipped with an EOTech Holosight, but I'd like some magnification.

Other than battery life there isn't that much difference between it and the Aimpoint PRO that's half the price.

For the price and your needs, I'd look at a Trijicon ACOG.

I have the ACOG and the PRO. I like the 4x of the Trijicon for distance.

Only because I've used a few CCOs elsewhere. Now I'm thinking the ACOG may be a better choice.

Thank you!

It looks like I can get the ACOG TA31RCO with a 300 Blackout reticule. I'm thinking the reticule for 123 grain BLK at 2150 fps will be closer to my 123 grain at 2400 fps Norma 7.62x39 than would one for 2800-3000 fps with 55-62 grain bullets, or am I overthinking this?

Some time with a ballistic calculator program might answer your question, but I think your initial guess is correct.

It does make the red dot appear larger, but the whole field of view appears larger as well. So it’s proportionate to the field of view.

I have one on my Colt with a LaRue mount. It's a really nice red dot with incredible crazy long battery life.

Having said that - it doesn't really do anything my PRO or Micro T-2 can't besides the night vision settings.
Discounting the convenience of AA batteries that is. Hard to overstate that because in a pinch everybody has
those around the house.

Just mounted and bore-sighted the ACOG - seems like it will meet my needs well, indeed. Turning the illumination to 4 seems bright to me; at 6 it's almost distracting, but then again I am not a daily illuminated optics user.

Thanks to all for the discussion!

Were you trying those illumination settings indoors or outdoors. What looks OK indoors turns into "where is it?" when you step outside in my experience.
