Give it a go, it'll always make for a good 'shoot through the scope sniper' shot when it goes poot, as is the case with most China made ebay f'acogs.

That being said my Ma & Pa bought me a cheap china Triji'CON' rmr to angle mount on my 15-22, after an age to get it sighted in....i have been pleasantly surprised at how well made it is and after a few purposefully dished out knocks it still holds zero.....£30 vs £400+ when all i really wanted it on there for was to help the look my £250 ($450) mtc viper connect looks weird without it.
So all in all, looks great and works....although i am not silly enough to advocate it over the real deal and am aware that it is like the guy who falls off a skyscraper and on the way down keeps repeating 'so far....so good..........so far......so good'

I put one on mine to make it look like its big brother.
The reticle lines are pretty fat and if I wasn't trying to match my acog I probably wouldnt have done it.

Nothing wrong with a budget optic on a 1522, but the trick is to select the budget optics that have a good reputation for working as they should and holding up over time.

Listen to the guys here about Bushnell and Primary Arms.

I just put airsoft optics on my AR Pistol (5.56/.223) but they are temporary. They are Magpul PTS or something like that. Composite knockoffs basically.

PSA recently had the Bushnell TRS 25 on sale for $49 (normally about $89), even at full price it is a sight that will give good service for years. The airsoft stuff is a **** shoot.

To be the voice of "dissent" I run quite a lot of Airsoft stuff on my 15-22. My 15-22 is babied much more than my Airsoft stuff ever was. Anything that will break good quality Airsoft components will break a 15-22.

There are good and bad quality Airsoft components though. At my local Airsoft shop they have a scope I am dying for (Spectre). Nice clear glass, nice sharp lines, but the guy behind the counter refuses to sell it to me because he knows what I want to do with it and he won't even sell it to customers to put on a GBB Airsoft gun because the vibration of them firing will damage the sight.

I have used various Chinese no name brand and some brand names (Like NC Star and Tru-Glo). A decent enough Airsoft scope will work for the 15-22. Because I like playing dress up with my 15-22 I have owned a couple of red dot, a couple of holo style sights and a couple of magnified optics. The ONLY scope I have had issues with was a real-steel budget scope. I ran out of elevation on it.

For decent budget grade stuff I'd happily look at the NC Star range. Which is a far cry from what I was saying a couple of years ago!
No name H1 look-alike in "La Rue" mount. Worked great. Reduced battery life but no other issues:

Another setup I tried:

NC Star holo style projector:

Current setup, the NC Star SRT

The real world scope which gave issues.

Edit, I still have these scopes, none were replaced due to failure, except the real steel one. They were replaced due to playing Barbie. The Airsoft stuff is back on my Airsoft guns.

I'm curious as to what the thought process is in using Airsoft items at all. If someone decides to go and spend $300-400 on a real firearm what's the thinking behind exploring optics that are made for Airsoft?
You can buy purpose built optics that don't cost much that should be just fine for a 15-22 so why dip into the Airsoft products at all? All I can think is that it's for the "tacticool" aspect.

I got a quality optic for my 15-22, however it looked quite strange with it having to be double mounted at the front due to the dedicated mount being designed for 11'dovetails. It is a quality scope but looks very strange...so the tacticool factor played its role...my folks got me a china made $20 TrijiCON rmr to angle mount under the gap created by the mounting of my primary optic. I never intended for it to be used it was purely for show to balance the look of the rifle...$20 was cheap for this cosmetic frivolity...i am happy with the look, as stated earlier what i am more happy with is the fact that after zeroing in, which took a long time, as the elevation and windage adjustments are 'up for down' and 'left for right' and vice versa...lol it took an age to zero it. Since then it has actually performed well and can perforate tin cans at 25 yards all day long. To use something like this as your primary optic....you are asking for disappointment! For a fun showy accessory that can hit the side of a barn why not.....but believe me if i had the $400 for a real RMR then i would mount it in a flash. Don't expect much and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Plus it does look 'tacticool' haha

You never intended for the scope to be used but just wanted to look at it?

When folks joke about gun porn, you take it seriously don't you? :D

Kayback does bring up a good point... My son's airsoft guns see much more abuse than his 15-22. The airsoft guns have hit the ground hard a few times and a couple of them cost almost as much as a 15-22.

When i say i didn't intend it to be used i mean for the rapid fire comps i shoot, for plinking and tin can alley, fine. I wasn't intending for the RMR scope to be any good, with it being so cheap, but yes 'gun porn' wise i have lusted after a 45' angle mounted mini red dot for some time and the oddity factor of my primary optic, clinched the ebay deal.
My folks, bless them asked if i wanted anything for my gun for xmas (they fell in love with it when i treated my dad to a range night for his b'day) so they got me the RMR.

I take all porn seriously....you should see my guitar porn :D

Well for one, ITAR. I can not easily purchase a Primary Arms or even TRS 25 without bundles of paperwork.

Following on that, the 15-22 is a cheap gun. Is it worth putting the equivalent of another 15-22 on the side of it simply to aim?

It does also allow one to try out multiple layouts on a budget. For less than the cost of a "better" sight I tried about 5, sending thousands of rounds down range with each sight with no failures.

I will admit when I narrowed down what I wanted I bought a $150 scope.
