It's rained hard all day here, and this is supposed to be the NICEST day of the next six or seven. In the seventies by Christmas, and get to dodge tornadoes on Wednesday night for Christmas Eve Eve. There's times I really dislike living in Alabama. Little tough to get in the old Christmas spirit when you are running around in short sleeves and shorts.

We used to take the kids to Disney World for Christmas, we would leave here early Christmas morning, when we got to Fl, it never felt like Christmas. :(

I hear ya' Mark.
It's supposed to be in the 60's up here in central Indiana.
Just don't feel right.

it is snowing here so no problem with the Christmas spirit....I spent 2 Christmas' in Nam and not even Bob hope could put me in the spirit....I swore I would never have another warm Christmas in my life

Give me A/C, Steaks on the grill, and clear skys on Christmas any time and I will be happy.

Man, what's the problem. Every day is a great day. Enjoy the day. you will never have it again. I learned that from a very sweet man that was dying from cancer, We were sitting in his den, high above US 280 enjoying coffee. He was a young man, about 57,very prosperous and ha was dying from cancer. I made the comment that it was a beautiful morning. He looked across from me in his beautiful Vestavia home and said, "Every day is a beautiful day." That had such a profound effect on me and changed my complete outlook on life. Enjoy the day. Seize every opportunity.

Hey Mark,Good to see your post!!Yes this is some rather odd weather, hope we survive it!!Merry Christmas !!!!

IN the 90's momanthem lived in N. Ft. Lauderdale, and they had mid 30's and rolling blackouts on Christmas. It got cold enough that the older houses had frozen and burst piped. No matter what you get, somebody is going to complain. In central Ohio, we are experiencing 20+degrees above normal. I think that is a good thing too, if all this rain were snow, we would be in the 2 foot range. Then there was Christmas Eve 1983, we bundled up our 7 month old daughter and went visiting relatives... in 20 below temp, plus 40 mph winds. For us that is cold!

Regardless of the weather, Merry Christmas and God Bless, everyone!

Ivan

Hey,hey, hey Santa's coming;
Y'all behave, A/C's humming
What a beautiful sight,
Sandals and black knee socks at night,
Swimming in a Winter wonder land. Joe

On the upside, I will be able to smoke the turkey on my carport with a cigar and a beer, and not freeze to death. Merry Christmas to all of y'all as well!!

My son is quite a bit south of you in Baldwin County, but the weather is the same. He has no problem with it since he hates the cold.

He'll be cooking something on Christmas Eve or Christmas and enjoy not freezing to death. ;)

Then again, up in MA, it will be close to 70 on Christmas Eve, so we won't be freezing either.

On the upside, I will be able to smoke the turkey on my carport with a cigar and a beer, and not freeze to death. Merry Christmas to all of y'all as well!!

The last 3 winters here have been bad. Nothing compared to what some of you guys deal with, but plenty cold and lots of snow. I was really not looking forward to winter this year. So I am happy about the fact that we've only had about 4-5 days under 32 degrees so far. The squirrels are fat as dogs here because they're chowing down preparing for the cold and snow that so far is a no show. It's rained plenty the last few days. If was snow it would butt deep to a forty foot giraffe.

5 3/4 in of rain in past two days in East central AL and more on the way.:(

Usually by this time we have had a couple feet of snow and at least one good sub-zero snap. This has been pretty easy to live with. Trouble is, in January, it will get cold, maybe not as cold as usual, or for as long, but a lot colder than now. Ordinarily I'd be inured to it, but not now. I haven't even put the sand bags in my Ranger.

They're calling for a record high of 76 for Xmas Eve and 70 for Xmas here in Philly. I hate it! I want my 30s and 40s degree weather. Allergy season this Spring is going to be the worst in years since we are having such a mild winter.
