I was lucky and a friend hooked me up with a Lou Alessi Body Guard SH to go with my new 19-4 2.5".

It's my Harley carry system and I love the holster and 19. Think they were made for each other.

I feel very fortunate to have one of this master craftsmans holsters. May he RIP.

Regards,

SG

I was only lucky enough to get one of Lou's Shoulder holsters and it is a work of art.

I have a couple of his IWB holsters and they are also keepers.

That's a nice set up especially for riding bikes. Three classics: The Hog, the 19 and the snap through Alessi. Enjoy

I think you just establish a combat grip on the revolver and then give it a good yank. The front of the trigger guard will release the snap. Kinda like my cuffs do in my Galco cuff case.

Thats correct. Very good retention but still easy to draw. It's also very fast and one comfortable rig. Still practicing using ths speed strips.

The 19-4 is a great carry gun. Using Ranger's .38+ P's and it likes em. Very accurate snub and the Ahrends are pretty much standard on all my S&W's as they fit my small hands much better than the S&W combats that sell for 2.5 x's as much. Feel well armed with the setup!

Once again my thoughts and prayers to the Alessi family.

Roger

Ah, ok. The shoulder holster I use when I ride (rigid XS650) has a thumb break. If I tried to yank on it to pull it free, I'd have to pull it forward 4-5 inches before it would have enough resistance to pull the snap. It's a cheapy nylon, though. I bet that's the difference.

Here's my Alessi Bodygaurd for 2" J Frames..
I was supposed to send this holster to Lou around Christmas to get the snaps replaced..

I've been getting into leatherworking, mainly to make holsters that are *exactly* what I want. If you go to Tandy, you can get everything you need to replace your snaps for less than $20.

I'd do it for free for you, just to be able to study the your design.
