Anyone using an Alien Gear Shapeshift system for a 380EZ or M&P 45 Shield???? Opinions????

I have not used one, although I looked at and decided not to for the following reasons:
Complexity = more failure points
Complexity = harder to set for two guns rather than just having two custom fit holsters
Relatively bulky
Relatively expensive
Designed to be adaptable; therefore compromises doing the one thing it needs to do well: securely hold a single model gun in the safest, most secure and comfortable, smallest footprint, concealed method possible.
Others who have actually used the system may have different points of view. I look forward to hearing from proponents.

I prefer the old model leather hybred IWB
I like the cloak tuck by them as well as their belt slide. I do not like the new shape shifters

I love their Cloak Slide and Cloak Tuck 1.0 and 3.0. The Cloak Mod and now their Shape Shift are just to busy. The concept is good, and I've heard a lot of people really like them, but I'm a KISS kinda guy. Keep it simple......well, you know.

I looked at the shape shift but it is just to bulky for me. I do have other Alien Gear IWB and it is great quality. Company is really good.
I still use their regular IWB holster with a Shield 9, and love it. I have never been tempted to try the shape shifter. It just looks bulky to me.
I've got one for my Kimber miro 9, don't use it. To bulky.

You might like the Foxx IWB holster. It is partially leather and much smaller and complex than the AlienGear. I had used the Aien Gear IWB for about 3 years before moving to Foxx. Much more adaptable too.

I ended up with an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck IWB (I believe the 3.0) because I needed a holster quick for my Glock 20 10mm when I went out to Idaho and Wyoming last year. The holster was inexpensive and served it's purpose well enough. I did some novice level hiking and found the heft of the G20 to be secure. However, the magazine carrier that came with the holster left a lot to be desired; it was too bulky and I resorted to carrying the spare magazine in my pocket.

I had the Cloak 3.0 for the Shield, finally gave it away or sold it, can't remember. Just too clunky.

My son's core kit came in yesterday. He setup the outer shell with trigger guard on the iwb, doesn't seem any more or less bulky than my 3.0 iwb.
The gun rests against the pad and retention is strictly in the trigger guard, which is adjustable. Haven't messed with the rest of the kit contents.

I've had the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.5 for a bit more than a year. I find it's my preference if I'm going to be out walking and standing. If I'm going to be seated more than up and about, then I prefer a basic leather pancake holster.

I had one for a small 1911. I used it for a week and sent it back. It was too thick and I felt like an old time gunfighter. Might have been ok for competition holster or for a woods gun.

Yeah, I've been doing internet "research" for the past hour or so, and the AG doesn't get high marks for comfort.

I've got 4 of the owb slide holsters, one of the cloak paddle holsters.
I prefer the slide for comfort and effortless concealability under an over shirt. I've found the comfort is gun dependant. I don't even know when I've got my shield on, my M&P compacts are barely noticable. But for whatever reason, I notice my P365, a lot.
The cloak paddle isn't noticable no matter what I have in it. It's tight enough it doesn't need a belt, and if not using a belt, it's easy on, easy off. When using my belt, I don't put paddle inside my pants, and I pretty much have to feed the belt in and out as it's tight enough it's a chore to try to install or remove otherwise. It doesn't conceal as well as it's bulkier.

Which model are these reviews referring to? If it's the original, I understand, like a new pair of shoes the leather bases needed to be worn and broken in. Once broken in, though, they are amazing. If you look at the 3.0, 3.5, and the newer 4.0, these are terrific right out of the box. My best testament to Alien Gear is from a trip several years ago. I had to travel to New Mexico to pick up my Granddaughter. I wore a Beretta 92 IWB for 3 days straight. Never a moment of discomfort. Their OWB Cloak Slides are great. I actually carry my Shields, M&P, and 1911 in one of these.

Yep, that's the holster I have 4 of. It's also the only holster I use when I want to carry a 1911 cause fits it to me well. Price on this one is hard to beat.

I got away from the Aliens for my Smith, just didn't protect the gun form my skin when wearing a t-shirt for cover, I went with the Houston IWB. Softer, thinner and separates the gun from my body.
I have an AG Shapeshift AIWB for my Shield 9mm 2.0. I often forget I am wearing it.... I also have one of their holster mounts in the center console of my car, it fits perfect. I like the whole set up. Plus a lifetime warranty, can't beat that.
