All firearm manufacturers could learn from Remington. Heck.... EVERYONE....

I sure love my old M600 in 308 and the other one in 243. two of the best little deer rifles I have ever had. The 308 does kick a mite like a mule but if there is a deer in the sights you don't notice it.

The 308 is a pussycat. Even when they weigh in at 6lb, they are smooth, and the hit is at worst spirited.

Try a 300Weatherby magnum, or a 338RUM if you want to feel what a very sharp recoil feels like. I still do not like the 300 Weatherby....... and I sold mine over 20 years ago! It has a very sharp hit, with a lot of mule behind that.

The 338 RUM is just stupid-hard hitting on both ends. Not sharp, but extremely testy for most shooters. A very big 'thud' and you are pushed back I dunno, maybe a half a foot or so.
....................................

What is even more of a shame than putting out a lousy product is when a company makes changes, modernizes stuff, and suddenly a stone reliable tool or machine becomes a shell of its' former self.

Can't find it now but a while back I saw a video review on the R-51 on You Tube. It looked like a skit you would have seen on the old Johnny Carson show--the gun review from hell. The reviewer sounded like he was ready to take after the thing with a sledgehammer.

I've had a couple of new semiautos (not S&Ws) that acted about the same so I can relate...

Agree on all, but I love my 300 WBY.

Well they are.....

Well they are admitting it, not putting the blame on anyone else and replacing the bad examples. That's pretty swell. My favorite company seems to be sending out a lot of product that needs fixing right out of the box. I don't like it, but at least they fix/replace no questions asked.

Well, i give a big thumbs up and say Kudos to Remington
for the position they are taking on offering to replace with
an updated model and Pelican case and extra Mags.
Wish all Gun Manufacturers would stand behind their products
like this.
Hey, they made a lemon and are making it right.
Whats not to like?
You ever hear of any other gun maker doing this after releasing
a new production "problem" gun?

Hey, my Wife had a Green Pinto when we first met. It never blew up. That car is the only one that would start in Northern Mn. It finally turned to a pile of rust on the side of the road. I believe it is a Historical Marker now.;)

I had a blue Pinto that never exploded either. It also rusted before my eyes, but it never left me by the side of the road. The engine started on the first turn, including the day I took it to the bone yard.
