Surplus grips I found -
First up a set of DymondWood J-frame grips for the model 317 product number 100228. I bought a 317 years ago that was equipped with Uncle Mikes Spegels. Then, later saw a S&W catalog with a 317 wearing these. Called Smith, and the phone rep claimed to have sold me the last available pair. They were made by ACE before they closed up shop. If you look at the 4th edition of the Standard Cat page 276 you can find a later pair of these. The radius has a bevel cut on this earlier set for the speedloader and sideplate logo relief cuts. Useless trivia... but that's what these are.
A good bit less chunky than the usual boot grips, and the laminate "grain" appears to be fine in comparison to many.
