Colt Detective Special 3rd series fully shrouded ejector .38 Special
Serial # 88XXRD I got this awhile back from a former Police Officer and this gun is the typical Police Carried alot and almost never shot firearm. The gun has muzzle and high point holster wear and had rust spots on the backstrap and sides of the grip frame from moisture forming under the rubber grips, I cleaned the gun up took it to my gunsmith for a checkup and all was fine. I got this gun thinking I would replace my 640 but I just love my 640 too much. Mechanicalluy the gun is excellent with perfect timing, minimal endshake and a smooth long DA and crisp SA Trigger pulls, The rifling is sharp and this will make a perfect carry gun for someone without the worries of it being to pristine to holter. The gun is wearing old OEM Colt wood grips that have plenty of life left in them.

This was a impulse buy from a friend who owned two because the trigger is amazing and I liked the small grip frame for the wife, of course the wife disagrees and still likes my 5946 so I am parting with this as it does not get shot.
The overall finish on the gun is excellent no rust and only minimal handling marks, amazing trigger pull, accuracy and reliability. The gun could use a new front sight which looks to have been dented or filed but has never effected accuracy for me which is why I never changed it.
I fired exactly 350 Rounds total of standard pressure 9x19 Factory Ammo through this gun with zero malfunctions.

Not much to say about this gun basically been a safe queen fired two magazines of Winchester Silvertip ammuntion cleaned it and put it away, Gun looks like new and is a high quality firearm but well I just like my 640 too much lol................
