A great surprise delivered today. First of 2010. This flat NIB museum piece pre-Victory w/original kraft box, tools, etc. Another collection gap filled in fine fashion thanks to DLC.

Have you by any chance gotten a factory letter on that one yet?

I have one in the same configuration in the 926XXX serial number range on which I'm breathlessly waiting for a letter.

Also, if I may, is the box basically a kraft box of the same type the 1911A1s shipped with? And is the cleaning rod and manual something that would have been in a GI issue box?

No letter yet, has been requested but I know it shipped in April of 1942. As to the box, yes it is a kraft box similar to the A1 boxes. Victory's were cased this way as well. As to whats included, don't know.
