Well this morning, as I do many mornings, I stop at my local Jack in the Box for breakfast on my way to work at 5 am. I sit in the Drive Thru, ( only customer ). I noticed two young male adults standing in front, talking. I get my order, drive past them. One starts yelling as I drive by. I kept driving, drove into the street. The two of them were running across the lot toward my car. One of them pulled a gun from his waist band as he was running. This was easy, just jumped on the accelerator and sped away!

Called 911 and made a report. Always be aware of surroundings and possible escape routes!

Sounds scary!

Always be aware of surroundings and possible escape routes!

Just yesterday, I came down my usual interstate exit ramp to find three vehicles blocking the road at the intersection. The driver of the vehicle on the left, an Escalade, was standing outside his car door. The sedan driver in the center front was yelling and pointing his finger. The second Escalade on the right was behind the sedan. I turned off the radio and opened my window. The angry man in the sedan was yelling, "Don't you come near me! I will kill you! I will put a bullet in you! Don't you come near my car! ... All I did was flash my lights at you! Don't you come near me!"

Well, I could back up the highway ramp if I had to. I could call the police if something worse happened. Fortunately, the driver on the left got back into his vehicle and went up the entrance ramp back on the highway. The center driver made a left onto the county road. The rear driver followed the first back onto the interstate.

Was stopped at a stop sign in a nearby town..it was late and I was trying to get back to the freeway..I hear my passenger door click like someone was trying to open it..pulled my model 60 out of a jacket pocket and laid it on the seat..the individual quickly retreated into the dark..I never let the sun go down on my ass in that town again..all5x

One of my favorite stories is from a guy who was stuck in freeway traffic somewhere in LA where some of our south of the border transplants liked to come through holes in the fence and rob motorists stuck in traffic jams.

Upon hearing his passenger side door opening ( never did hear a good explanation of why that wasn't locked in the first place) he drew is 45 Colt Commander and pointed it into the face of the individual preparing to slide into the passenger seat with a large screwdriver in his hand. He asked the guy, "what do you want ?". After a couple of moments of reflection, the guy said "I want to be somewhere else !" and hauled ***.

Preparation and an awareness of your surroundings. I'll bet he never left that door unlocked again when driving like that.

One of the things I really like on newer cars with remote locks is the one-click/two-click bit ... one to unlock the driver's door only, two to unlock other doors. My passenger door is never unlocked unless my wife is in there.

I live in Houston, and I don't meen the suburbs, in the city. I have lost track of those type of incidents and I will NOT venture out much past dark. Just the way it is these days.

Just be glad they were inept. You probably taught them a lesson that will be bad news for the next guy they try it on.

Al Sharpton hasn't talked about these guys, but he did tell us about the Somali volunteer coast guardsman. Must have just been volunteer security guards.

Any idea why they selected you?

Thank God I live up here in the woods, not saying it can't happen. But you're more likely to find a bear in your kitchen then get hijacked.

Golly I live a tame sheltered life! I thought I needed to get out more. Now, Im not so sure!

Boring can be good. Went to Mobile, took care of my grandson for five hours, came home. Nothing happen. Life is good.

I was going though a large town that I was unfamiliar with about 20 years ago, as I was sitting at a stop light , a large black man walked over put his hands on the side of the cab and started rocking my pickup. scared the hell out of me as 3 more started walking over. I reached under my jacket next to me and got my 45 colt out and tapped the window with the barrel. He looked down saw the end of the 45 looking at him and the look on his face was either disbelief or terror, I dont' know which but they all dissapeared so fast I could'nt believe it. To say the least I was very relived and left the area post haste. I have packed a gun about everywhere I go for close to 46 years, twice I think it saved my bacon.

I was in DEA school in DC in the 80's. We would do night surveilance exercise in the last weeks. They told us not to carry because of all the public places we would be in and out of.

Me no way. Pulled up to a red light and a Black guy approached the passenger side and pulled a pipe from under his coat. I draw and aimed my hid out gun a Berreta 380. He actually smile and waved to me and backed up to the curb

That the reason I got my carry permit. I was stopped in traffic and a car pulled up along side the car in front of me, 3 males jumped out with ball bats and started to beat on the guys car. He fortunately had left enough room to hang a U turn. The 3 hoods jumped into their car and attempted to give chase but traffic started to move and boxed them in. I had my son with me in his car seat, that was in 04 and I carry at all times now

Best defense is to find a way out if possible.

I do wish it was possible to get a carry permit where I live. Here in the ultra liberal S.F. Bay area, it's not possible.
