Couldn't figure out how to do the degree ° sign when doing this cold weather posts, so looked it up -- found some more that are useful. Hold the Alt key and press the number:

¢ is 155
¥ is 157
½ is 171
¼ is 172
° is 248
± id 0177
and a bullet • is 0149

That would be handy but I’m having trouble finding the alternate key on my cell phone!

To type a degree symbol (°) on an iPad
using the default on-screen keyboard, follow these steps:

1. Open any app that uses the keyboard (e.g., Notes, Messages).
2. Tap the 123 button to access the numbers and symbols layout.
3. Press and hold the zero (0) key.
4. A pop-up menu will appear showing the degree symbol (°).
5. Slide your finger over to the degree symbol and release.

Or you can create a “shortcut”. Both too much trouble for me. I’ll just type ‘degree’.
