So myself and my 2 auto techs were on the Snap On Tool truck today, like always, playing with the Kershaw knives. There was a new one, a folding knife, we all liked, my son snatched it up .. Casey and I both wanted one, so I jump on Amazon, find it for sale and order .... but wait, up pops a message ..... unable to ship to Mass! Right a way, I think, here we go again .... our AG stuck her nose into the dangerous weapon arena.

So I get a rep on the phone from Amazon, long story short, Mass and California are on a list for legal disclaimers, cannot ship knives to us ..... because of some BS. She couldn't tell the exact reason, but I could read between the lines. No killy pocket knives can be shipped to Mass. This country is screwed!

I did go onto Ebay and was able to complete a transaction for 2 of them. All I can say is Amazon is going to lose my business in the future. I order from them on average 2-3 times a week. Lot of tools, other products for my business and just general stuff ... Hope that others will read this and follow suit ... cause this company is not on our side ... it isn't going to stop with just Mass, you can bet sooner or later others will experience the wrath of the left ..

Mob Rule

This is what happens when snowflakes intimidate legitimate businesses with social responsibility investing and boycotts. I doubt if Amazon gives a hoot who they ship pocket knives to, but don't want to risk the wrath of gen-X or whatever pressure group might be offended by someone having a sharp tool. This is tribal anarchy. Laws are bad enough these days but we can't survive this. Whoever gets in power or has control of the media can browbeat political correctness into the un-informed masses.

Are you saying that other Online companies did ship knives?

Otherwise, I fail to see your point.

MA is not in my opinion a fit place to live, so for me, it's sort of a moot issue.

Will Amazon ship to other places, like NYC?

My son sent me a Victorinox Hunter knife via Amazon and we had no problem. But we live in Texas, where knife laws improved a lot a couple of years ago, allowing most types.

I bought a nice Falkniven A1 from Amazon and had it shipped to me in Japan. (Might have been from a supplier who listed it on Amazon, I suppose, but the transaction was via Amazon in any event.)

Beautiful knife, by the way.

Was able to buy one online from AAFES without an issue . I guess being a Vet means something, despite living in California.

I think I’d blame Massachusetts, rather than Amazon...

No doubt, Mass is on the top of my list. If you aren't from Mass, you probably wouldn't know of how the politics and the Attorney General works. But I would expect most would understand my point. I have purchased and had delivered knives before from Amazon, it's not against our written laws here, We have an aggressive AG, who tends to put everyone she feels like,on notice if they ship certain items to Mass, whether it's legal or not. Many businesses just comply with her wishes.... when they don't have to. We are currently going through this now with anything AR and anything ammo ... Just thinking that others from any state at anytime will become victims of this same type of blatant attacks on our rights.... For the record, there are a few that have defied her wishes on her ammo ban and ship here. As I found yesterday Ebay shipped my knives here.

Also, one more point. I could buy the knife from Amazon, just could not have it shipped to Mass., needed to ship it to any other state but Calif or Mass ...

Again, exactly my point here. Amazon lists California and Mass, only, as the states they cannot ship to. Two of the worse political leaning left states in the country. You know the ones that know what's good for us. Ebay shipped to me, Amazon wouldn't, so obviously it's a individual company decision, more so than a state law! Hence, Screw Amazon!

Yes, Ebay shipped me 2 of them with no problems. Mass is a beautiful state, love the 4 seasons. But we are overrun by liberals. Whose mission in life is to control our rights as Americans. I could run from my state like a coward or stand and fight for our rights. We all, including Tx are seeing our rights being challenged on a daily basis by these liberals who think this is a Pleasant Valley kind of world. No clue of constitutional rights. I see Tx as one of the free states that is being infiltrated by liberals, just as Vermont up here in the N\E is being settled by more and more liberals every day... also one of the freest states in the country with no gun laws.

If you live close to the border with another state, rent a PO box in that state and have the items shipped to the PO box! Bypass MA completely.

Thanks, I am close to Ct line and have friends I could use. But that doesn't fix the problem. I am trying to get down to fixing it 1st. Not an easy battle when ya have to fight it alone.

It's a company decision, prompted by a company's awareness of a state's intolerance of various mean looking items. If all of "us" began locating in states with already tolerant views of mean looking items, those states would eventually become even more tolerant, and the states with less tolerant views of evil looking items would become even less tolerant as people relocated to places with people who see things "their" way.

Moving to a better place has been suggested a couple times in this thread, and is regularly suggested in others. Those who live in the less tolerant states often scoff at the idea, can't afford to move, family ties, job situation, yada yada yada, thus they get the rules and regulations they deserve for remaining . . .

This isnt new in Ma, one time I was at Bass Pro in Ma, this was about 5 yesrs ago maybe more, I was in the hunting dept, I wanted to buy a new Buck 110, they wouldnt even let me hold one, the clerk told me if I wanted to buy one, I would have to go to the fishing dept.

This is so true. I couldn’t wait to get out of MA and deliberately targeted the seacoast of NH not even an hour north. Going on 20 years ago, I job searched, made connections and when the iron was hot I struck and got out. My family and like-minded life-pals are still there with their roots dug in; bitching about it every day. The hour north from them that I am is no farther than their commutes to offices in Boston. But it’s like the difference between living in south vs North Korea. Yet, they remain....

Thanks for the support Muss and Mr Harry. The people that have left Mass, are just so brave!! And the people who suggest we move from our homes need to step back and think about saying things like "we get what we deserve". Just shows how much we support each others plight and why it probably won't get better here. I chose to stay here because of many of the reasons you listed Mussy, but don't think for a moment I don't think of moving, just not worth biting my nose off to spite my face at this time. The winter snow and cold are the biggest reason for wanting to move, but we offset that with the joy of spring, summer and fall. For the time being I will hang in here and resist as much as I can... thanks again for the support.
