Folks: couple questions...
1. My wife is a south paw and I'm right handed. Is there an ambidesterous safety for the 15-22? If not, can I switch the safety for her to shoot left handed since it really is her .22?
2. The sling swivel fits a 1" sling. Who uses a 1" sling? Any replacement QD swivels for a 1.25" sling?

Thanks.

Have a GI cotton sling on mine, fits the rear sling swivel fine. I used a UTG front swivel (amazon, about 10 bucks).

If you don't want the ambi-safety (I have one and love it), it takes all of a couple of minutes to reverse the stock safety.

Remove pistol grip (don't lose the two springs and detents)
Remove safety selector and insert from opposite side
Re-insert detents and springs
Replace pistol grip.

Just switch the safety like Majorlk described. There is an ambi safety if you look around.
I have a nice QD setup so you can get rid of the huge sling look in the butt stock and another one that clamps on the Picatinny rail.
Slings and Sling Accessories : Tacticool22, Tactical .22 Rifle Parts and Accessories
Plus you can use an off the shelf sling that already has the QD swivels attached. Then you can just swap a single sling from rifle to rifle or shotgun, saving you money on slings.

You guys are bad influences. :) I tried to order one of the SWS safety kits but card wouldn't process so I have an email and call into them. I'll go that route. It looks like a good system. I picked up a Mag Pul RSA and adapted one of my M-16 web slings. Thanks again.

Sorry for the late response, I just replied to your email.

Jonathan at Simpleweaponsolutions directed me to one of his retailers to process my order after my card didn't work with his system. Ordered through Battlearmsdevelopment.com. The order processed and I was notified of priority shipping about 90 minutes after I placed the order. Very impressive. Thank you Jonathan and BAD folks.

Ok. I stand corrected. Thank you

No sweat. Lots of folks don't realize S&W made the 15-22 lower just enough wider so centerfire uppers could not be used on it or put the 15-22 upper on an AR lower.

Have a good weekend - what's left of it ... and DON'T appear on Alaska State Troopers!!! :)

Ya I knew the upper was wider, I just didn't think it all the way through because it uses a lot of the same internals. It's the end of my work hitch so my mind is a little fried. I get home tomorrow, so it's nothin but shooting for me til next weekend. Maybe a little of the honey-do list. Got a room to clean out cuz I found out we're having our first child! AST is out of the question anymore lol, can't afford it.

As for the selector, I too am lookin at the ambi. I like being able to click back to safe with my index without having to take the gun away from my shooting position.

Hey, congratulations on the baby! What a fantastic Christmas present to find that out.

I changed selectors because I discovered that the factory one was wearing heavily where it met the trigger group. I went with the standard length crank on the left side and the short thin on the right.

Thank you sir!

Does the right side ever catch on anything? I get used to where things are, when I change things I usually run into hiccups until I get used to them.

The fat standard lever on the right (my original choice) was in the way of my trigger finger. That's why I went with the short thin lever. Roger, the fella who makes them, will let you swap levers to play with different combinations.
