Is it just me or does the AMC channel have poor sound quality. I admit to a hearing loss but other channels are not as hard for me to understand. I have recorded both the first and second seasons of H. O. W. s and replaying them in preparation for the third season. Trouble is I have to sit with the surround sound front speaker in my lap to hear and understand what is being said, particularly Bohanan.

I had the same issue with my previous cable provider, went away when I switched to Comcast. Call your provider and complain.

I think sound quality may be far down on the list of what the producers find to be important. .. I have a little difficulty with H. O. W., as well as Longmire. Seems almost as though the characters are mumbling; kinda like at the local Burger King, when they appear to be trying to say "thank you".

Center channel speaker in lap LOL!

Watched Breaking Bad last night on AMC. Sounded fine.

That said, I have had to compensate for TV speech by increasing the db for midrange frequencies on my receiver and volume for the center channel. Being able to clearly hear speech must be a problem for a lot of folks. A buddy of mine just purchased a $1,600 Bose CineMate to fix the problem and it really didn't help.

try turning off your dolby surround.
Unless the sound track is both properly produced, and properly broadcast, it fails at the end of the chain.

Since I record mostly everything this half deaf old fart replays some scenes until he gets what they are saying. I think that the sound varies on different programs rather than channels.

It sounds like several of you need hearing aids, or if you have them need them reprogrammed. I recently had mine reprogrammed and it is amazing how much better you can hear. If the technician knows what you are having problems with, and you communicate well they can adjust all the ranges to fine tune for your specific loss. I can now go to a restaurant or be with a group of people and understand what is being said.
