Jeff:I blew the picture up, I think you're right, maybe not a trigger shoe. Not sure when the wide target triggers became available. I wouldn't let that bother me though.
Well you don't have to worry about driving anywhere. It'll be gone.I appreciate all the info. Before I'd even made this post I'd sent the seller a message telling him I was interested and would like to schedule a time to see it. I figured if it checked out it was worth the asking price and you guys confirmed it was worth a good bit more. But, the seller is not the best communicator. I only heard back from him about six hours later and he told me that someone else is taking a look at the gun tomorrow. It's a 2 hour drive, so I'm not going to sit there waiting to see if the guy is a looker or a buyer. So, I told the seller to let me know if the guy doesn't buy it and I'll be there. BTW, the asking price is $1K.
It's a trigger shoe. I had him send me more pics.Jeff:
I too blew it up and I am almost positive that your first impression was right - it does wear a trigger shoe. The photo is kind of blurry there in the trigger area, but I still think the trigger is to thick (front to back) without it wearing a trigger shoe. It will be fun to find out the answer when the OP brings it home.
I would have offered $1200 as I was climbing in the trucjI appreciate all the info. Unfortunately, it seems like someone else beat me to the purchase. But, I had the seller send me some more photos. It is a trigger shoe.Jeff:

Well, if the seller had got back to me sooner, it be mine right now. But, he notified me that someone else was looking at it yesterday. I'm sure they are tickled to death right now.The gang is right-on! BUY THAT SUCKER TODAY! While the gun should have Magna stocks on it (the Target stocks weren't available on the .357 until late 1954), so the Cokes will certainly add value for buying the gun, and I haven't seen a pre-Model 27 here on the left coast for less than two grand (see Relic's notes above).
