No.. but it looks like something i have been looking for. is it all black rear and F/O front?

It's not cheap, but it allows a very fast acquisition of the target. I think it would be nice for steel plates.

I've had my eye on these for awhile.

I just can't decide if I want these or something with a single dot/bar rear.

Sight

You're right that sure looks like it's hard to ignore. Sooner or later this white stuff is going to dull or fall out, the rear already has I used type correction fluid on it when it did that works pretty good but sooner or late that'll go bye bye too.

Looks like to me with plain black rear even in low or no light that front sight looks like a beacon. Geez I've spent $69.00 on a lot worse.

Newbie here with questions... What does the matching rear (blacked out sight) get you? I understand the blacked out concept, and just planned on taking a black Sharpie to my stock rear sight & using the saved $14 on more ammo. If there are benefits to getting the set, what are they? Also, are adjustments needed after the new front sight is put on, or is it fixed? Finally, how long can one expect the tritium to last?

BTW - my stock front sight white dot fell out after about 50 rounds through my new M&P9. Local gun shop where I bought it took care of me. Point is, I would actually have more faith in an after market sight since their sole focus is the sight (whereas S&W is focused on all parts and therefore more likely to have minor glitches).

1. If you are concentrating on the fundamentals, your focus should be on the front sight. 2. The benefits will be up to you. For me, I can see the front sight, which is saying a lot nowadays. 3. You can drift the sight for windage but that is all. I don't spend much time adjusting sights. Once it is zeroed, I leave it alone. 4. Tritium begins to dim after about ten years.

I hope this helps.

BTW: I shot a match recently with the new sight and only dropped three points. I was very happy with that result. :)

Thanks Palmetto. It does help, but I'm still wondering if buying the set (front & rear) is better than just buying the front sight & blacking out the stock rear. If there's even a slight benefit to buying the set, I'll cough up the extra $14. Otherwise, the $14 gets me another box of ammo.

ESM, the rear sight is larger than the stock rear. It is slightly undercut and serrated which makes it appear darker, which is good thing. The aperature is also larger than the stock sight.

It sounds as if I own stock but I don't. It is just a great sight, probably the best I've ever used.

Maybe I should just keep this a secret and erase my post? ;)

Palmetto - Thanks for the info. I'll be spending the extra $14 to get the set. Talked with my local gun shop guy & he's pretty high on these too.

+1 on the front dot popping out. Those sights look like just the ticket for these old eyes.

I have the blacked out rear and the green/tritium front on my M&P9. I love it! I have poor close up eyesight, and it just "pops out".

I like those sights! I don't have that set but I find that wide notch rears really help with with quick target acquisition.

I put the orange Hack sight set on my 9FS and love them.

I had an XS Big Dot on it but just couldn't adapt to the rear sight on it. If they had the cut out rear sight instead of just the line to align them, I think it would be the best combination out there.

Very effective! The rear is serrated to cut down on glare. The front is .140" wide & the rear is .165" wide.
