I dropped in on one of my favorite LGS on the way to do something else and they had a considerable amount of ammo on the shelves. Mostly the good stuff but some ordinary ball including some odd sizes (they had some .30 Tokarev for instance). I was going to pick up some of the new Federal PUNCH .22 anti-personnel round just for the heck of it but there was too much of a line so I will go back in the next day or so. (There is so much BS involved in buying ammo in CA now days you wouldn't believe it.) Couldn't read the price tags and they have to keep the ammo behind the counter now in CA.

Pistol ammo seems readily available here in my neck of Penn's Woods. Definitely higher than pre-covid. But so is everything else.

Rifle ammo, not as much. 5.56 is plentiful, as are 7.62 NATO and 7.62x39 (USA made brass as well as steel cased). But 30-30, .243 Winchester, and .308 Winchester hunting ammo is scarce. Rifle deer season starts the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Noticed slugs and buckshot especially tough to find lately and priced way too high if found at all. 12 gauge shotshells for bird and trap shooting are tough to find too and priced at $10-12 per box. Doubt we will see prices come back as materials continue to climb.

It does seem to be making a comeback, but still not like the old days. And yes, I doubt prices will ever go back down.

Could have bought .380 acp Winchester White Box 95 gr. flat point @ $28.95/50 or Fiocchi 45 acp 230 gr. fmj @ $31.95/50 at Sportsman's Warehouse today.... passed... I'm done with all this... Will patiently wait and reload both. No primers...no powder there either.

Where in NEPA do you find ammo. I have not seen any to speak of, just wondering? Thank goodness in reload so in have 30-06 and 30-30 hunting ammo.

I have two gift cards for Cabela's that come to $75............

I keep going into the ammo section, hoping to find something that I can use.
23 months and still looking.................

Pretty sad, when you have "Free $$$$" to spend.
