Ammo becoming available again

Pleasant Surprise

I ordered ammo online and the company would not ship to the state I live in. I had it shipped to my nephew and finally got it today after several months wait. What I thought was 500 rds turned out to be 1,000. I also got 20 rds of WW Silvertip 357.

Today was down at Sportsman’s and Cabelas.
Both still had pretty good levels of ammo,
But the gun shelves were pretty empty.
And folks were lined up to buy the remaining Guns.

The 9mm shelves have been empty for weeks at the 2 Sportsman's Warehouse stores near me. As has their .22 LR ammo.
But all the Walmarts seem to have lots of .22 LR.

I see a lot of cars in the parking lot of Sportsmans with California plates, and I've heard people are driving up from Phoenix to buy ammo.
No wonder the shelves here in Northern Arizona are usually empty.

Yesterday I was in the Flagstaff Sportsman's and noticed they had 3 different types of .45 ACP, Aguila, Federal Champion Aluminum and WWB. The .45 shelves have been bare for a few months now.
I bought 300 rounds of the WWB.
I already had around 1000 rounds of .45, but now own 3 guns in .45 ACP, two M&Ps and a revolver, so I thought I should get some more range ammo.

I confess that I'm out of the loop in regard to our local Bass Pro & Cabela's. Haven't been to either in a while now. Just too busy with elderly care and building our retirement place. Both involve a lot of time & travel. Besides, who wants to go any big store shopping during this COVID mess where you have to wear a mask and wait outside in the heat until the numbers guy at the door says you can go inside. :( That said, I'm overdue on picking up a few (non-ammo) things I need there. :o

I did stop at Walmart the other day and I noticed that they aren't even selling .22LR or "hunting ammo" any longer. Is it the COVID?... or the "peaceful protests"?... or yet another new Walmart anti-gunowner policy?

TSUSA remains our best hope here in MA for affordable bulk range ammo. I'm on the "notify me" lists for several lower cost range ammos in different calibers. Not holding my breath, but not in any great need either. Just don't want to miss out if/when something good that I could use comes in. :)

Since Targetsports and SGAmmo only have 9 m/m, .45ACP in stock that is the high dollar ammo it leads me too believe that availability is not very good. It also leads me too believe that it's a good idea too have guns in several calibers. Larry

I got the buckshot today. The company said I did not send the proper information about myself and that may have hindered the shipment.

Got to the suburban store this morning and there was a line of people in the parking lot. Would have had to have stood in line for an hour just to get into the store. I ordered 100 rds online this evening for less than I would have paid had I stayed with the store.

Here in NM you got to mask up to go anywhere.
My nearby Walmart is about out of everything.
I did score those buckets at Cabelas.
When you see it,
Gloat and tote!
What else do you need to know?

i picked up 1000 rounds of 357 mag from Bass Pro today (that i bought online a couple weeks ago, and they've since sold out of). total pain in the [sensitive areas] to pick up. had to drive 60+ miles early in the morning to get there at opening and get a wrist band to be let in, then had nearly an hour wait inside to complete the pick up, but at least i walked out with it.

i finally have some 357 coming from bud's, that i ordered almost 2 weeks ago.

targetsports is totally out of 357 but i have some 38 special coming, and it shipped relatively quickly (days instead of weeks).

all this hassle with online retailers and FFLs because my local stores have been completely dry for 6+ weeks.
