i am talking about the ammo brochures that were shipped with the guns. i wanted to know what the correct one was for a gun shipped in 1974. some of the blue ammo brochuers have a code 5131 on the back. others have another code.i just want to know what one is correct for that date. also some are black with no code or date on them.

I know the one you are referring to was in use in 1978, and I believe for several years before that, until the industry changed the testing methods and S&W went with quoted velocities from real revolvers about 1979. After that the speeds were much lower and closer to reality. The black one you refer to has the code 06-0880-CC 50M on the back and was the first one I believe to list accurate velocities.
