Just ordered one of those sell full sixed M&P 22's form PSA. I'm wanting to get more trigger time to work on reflexive firing on the cheap to pick up my game and maybe use it for some steels matches.... What ammo are you using? Is there anything yours prefers or especially doesn't like?

I have managed to get several different brands of bulk .22 over the last year by being in the right place at the right time.

I have Federal 525's that my rifle prefers, Remington Golden Bullet that the MK III likes and M22 that I haven't even tried yet. Additionally a few other mostly lead round nose brands.

Also what about holsters? We have a selection as we've been running our M&P 9's in USPSA for years.

My M&P 22 full size likes anything I've tried. Except for an occasional short cycle, considered as ammo problem, everything worked.

Just tried my new M&P 22 compact for the first time yesterday. Ran everything without a miss. Used Aguila high speed, Aguila standard velocity, Federal Automatch, some old PMC Sidewinder and Aguila target.

For the M&P 22 holster, Fobus SWM&P-40 belt style. No holster for the compact yet.

^^this^^

I've yet to have an issue with my 15-22, 22 or 22C that was because the weapon "didn't like" the ammo.

Same here, other than the occasional clunker round I have not had any issues with at least a dozen different types of ammo. I have been told to only use HV ammunition in the M&P but I have fired standard velocity ammo (1050 fps) and it still works fine.

Only issue is that some of the bulk stuff is a bit dirtier than premium ammo. CCI minimag, and Federal HV seem to be the cleanest and the most reliable so far. I just clean it more often and so far it has been a very reliable pistol.

Just for fun I put one of those cheap Chinese lasers on it and it is a blast at the indoor range. I can shoot really tight groups at 25 yards with it as long as my hands aren't too shaky:D.

I'd be interested in one of those "cheap Chinese lasers" for my M&P 22. Can you tell me where you got it or post a link?

Thanks!

Dick's sporting goods sells a fairly inexpensive laser that they market for air soft pistols but just for s**t's and giggles I installed it on a full size m@p 40 and it withstood the recoil just fine so I decided to put it on my 22 and it works great I believe I paid just a hair over 20$ for it

I've used Norma Tac-22, Aguila Match Pistol, CCI std vel., and old assorted coffee can ammo from Rem, Winchester, and no telling what else, with no problem at all. That being said, mine absolutely will not run the Winchester HP in the white 333 bulk box, without a 25% fail rate. I used them for a while just to teach my daughter how to clear malfunctions. After a while, that got old, so I don't even bother with them anymore.

+1 on the Winchester not running properly... Cci standard actually works pretty well on mine...

I've had the most luck with Blazer ammo, accurate and dependable

Not surprised about Winchester. When I use it in M&P 15-22, there are often underpowered rounds that sound like no powder at all, but no sauibs yet.

Anybody use Rem Golden Bullets? That's what I have the most of on hand. Still waiting for my pistol to ship

Run most any brand through mine. Lead RN seems to cause occasional feed problem. CCI standard vel. LRN run fine.
Best ammo CCI Mini mags. Next would be Rem Golden.
If I do not have a choice of available ammo, I buy what's available and have fun.

Like with any .22 semi auto pistol or rifle one must feed it and find out what that particular firearm likes to digest, the results John in Arkansas achieved with his M&P has little bearing on my pistol. My experience with both the full size and compact indicates the pistols will eat anything, my buddies full size has had issues with most brands except CCI.....go figure.

I have had no problems with Win DynaPoints in my 22c.

Here is the URL for the laser site. The first one is bright enough to blind someone while the second one is not.

Mini Green Laser Pointer with Battery (1x16340, Black) - USD $ 57.99

Amazon.com : NcStar Ultra Compact Pistol Green Laser with Quick Release Weaver Mount (AQPTLMG) : Red Dot And Laser Sights : Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/415f9RPLPyL.@@AMEPARAM@@415f9RPLPyL

I have both of these and the really bright one is easy to see at 25 yards, even 100 yards (in daylight) so I put it on my Colt M4 .22, the smaller one is fine for the indoor range but hard to see in daylight.

Almost forgot to mention that you can set azimuth and elevation on both of these.
