Ammo getting cheaper

The Sportsman in Reno has a flyer out with some pretty good prices, maybe in your town, also?

Aguila 9mm 115 fmj 50/ $12.99 also

Winchester 12 Ga. trap loads 7.5 or 8's 25/ $8.99

Have a great week.

I'm paying about $75 a case for trap loads before shipping and taxes. I can usually get two cases of Federal delivered for $190. That works out to about $9.50/box after taxes and shipping to my door. Don't even have to leave the house. I wish I had a fork lift.

Aguila 38gr HV HPs for a $0.05 each... Delivered. Net!

It's been a while since I've seen these and this was by the 500 round box, not a case price.

Cheers!

...on the other hand, regular rifle ammo has finally shown up here, in quantity and variety, and prices are lower than they were a year ago (when I could barey find ANY .30-06, for hunting).

In SOME cases such as the vulnerable 223 and 556, and ammo for an AK, MAYBE the prices have fallen a bit because I truly believe the ammo company's are "afraid" that they are doomed to be banned and they will be stuck holding the bag. I think they might want to lower and ship those before the door is shut. Other Other calibers that are for multiple different guns have not (as far as I can tell) dropped.

Can you explain that? I don't understand that part.

Ammo manufacturers just now caught up with demand. Supply is starting to fall off again due to global conflicts and material shortages. 2024 is going to be another tough year for ammo and reloading components.

The latest is a powder shortage coming. Manufactures have already told us that.

If the gummit discontiues sales of say 223/556 and 7.62 X39...there will be a bit of a while before it happens. The ammo companies will make it till the last day it can be sold with lots being contracted before DCing it to civilian sales...at an inflated price of course

Just bought Federal American Eagle 357 158 grain JSP for $32.99 a box. My last box from 2015 was $29.99.

I think he means that the ammo companies are worried that direct shipping to customers may be banned, largely by state legislation.

Or possibly having to get a background check to buy ammo. None of that happens here....yet.

I know some states already can't have ammo shipped to residential customers, no?

And my state already requires an "ammo card" if you have no hunting license, or pistol permit already.

So yeah- I too, see all this coming at some point.

And LVSteve- thanks for the clarification I asked for -

I think the biggest "ban" risk is that with a stroke of a pen ammo will no longer be imported for civilian sales. Most of us remember when Chinese imports of ammo was similarly banned.
