AMMO RECALL---Browning & Winchester 9mm

So Browning sourced their ammo from Winchester, at least for this particular batch. Exact same problem and the Browning lot numbers are smack in the middle of the Winchester lot numbers.

No surprise but interesting.

I quit buying Winchester ammo several years ago--to many failures to fire. I haven't had that problem with Remington, Federal, Fiocchi, Sellier & Bellot, or Browning. I always considered Browning to be good quality ammo. I'm sorry to hear they are dealing with Winchester now.

It pays to take the time to discover which 'brands' actually manufacture, and which are just names on boxes.

Browning, Herter's, Monarch, maybe some more: just boxes.

Herter's used to be made by Sellier & Bellot, now it's Winchester (and with a recall notice ).
Monarch is still PPU for brass, I believe Barnaul for steel.
Browning apparently is Winchester.

I wonder what the Sig brand really is. You know Sig doesn't have a factory making ammo, most likely. Just a 'cool' name.

It turns out that the 8 boxes of Herters 9mm that I recently bought at Cabelas is in fact Winchester.
I checked it online when this Thread was first posted.
Today I got a Letter from Cabelas explaining the situation with the Recall Lot Numbers.
I really appreciate that and I checked my Bullets again, just in case.
No Recall for me!
Shoot that Glock!
