Ammo/reloading component shortages

you need to be watching online they are showing up on the larger retailers midway, powder valley, gaff sons, brownells, midsouth, be prepared, for 125.00, to 150.00 shipped per 1,000 and limits of 1 or 2, I'm not to the point of paying these prices yet but would if I had no other choice too keep shooting

I went to Cabela's -- ammo only in 5.56 or 9mm. Everything else was gone or in some "odd" gauges. Their "Gun Library" was open again -- but only a few "toys" to look at. I cannot find any reloading components at Cabela's. Primers are non-existent. Why buy powders, cases, and bullets if there is nothing to make them go "bang"?

Cabela's became a joke after the Bass Pro buy-out in 2016.
The only thing worse than being a Cabela's customer and witnessing their demise was being an employee.
Just ask anyone who lives or lived in Sidney, Nebraska, the location for the former headquarters of the company.
Cabela's doesn't care about firearms, ammo or reloading anymore. They don't even trust you enough to take the trigger lock off a used gun to do a simple function check.
But, if they can tease you with a two box limit on primers that they don't even have in stock, in the hopes you'll buy some of their lousy fudge or cheap plastic junk from China they'll do it.

Ammo is nearly as necessary as food, even in America. Apparently a couple million rounds is a drop in the bucket and most people have a SHTF supply of ammo (if they so desire), but there's nothing wrong with making sure our own needs are a priority.

Most people wouldn't donate their last dollar to charity.

What has prevented you from buying ammo in the past few months?

I'm not sure why you're asking, but I haven't needed or wanted to buy ammo in the last few months. I have bought primers and powder and the only thing that's slowed me down is availability.

Go to target sports web site and get product alerts I've got all the primers I need as well as 22 lr ammo from them

They why are you concerned about some manufacturers diverting a relatively small amount of loaded ammo overseas?

How has being prevented from buying all of the components you wanted negatively impacted your lifestyle?

You appear to have misread the post to which you're reacting.
