In the past week, I've been able to score just a little bit of ammo at Wally World.

A couple of days ago I went in and they had just a few boxes of Federal bulk .22 and Winchester bulk .22.

I hadn't seen the Winchester before. It was 36 grain, brass case and 500 rounds per box.

Today I stopped in and they had one fifty round box of WW white box 9mm and two boxes of Federal 9mm!

Can you believe just finding a box here and a box there is newsworthy?

COME ON, GIMME A BREAK!

XXXXXXXXX

My son found winchester 9mm 100/box at Wmart in Chipley early last week and bought 2 boxes. I bought 3 of the same ammo at the same place 3 days later. Last Sat morning I bought 2 bricks of Winchester 555 22 LR at Wmart on PC Beach.

Still 6 box limit though. 6 boxes of 20 or 6 boxes of 555.

My Wal Mart had ONE box of handgun ammo yesterday. .357 sig.

The sad thing is, you probably found that one box AFTER a fresh shipment. :(

I stopped at Gander Mtn today for a speedloader and checked their ammo... even they were sold out... they usually have a decent amount because they charge so much for a box. Double compared to Wal mart.

Ammo on the way back? Not yet

Virtually all ammo that can be fired from a handgun is still scarce. Went to a local store in mid-Michigan last week. They had a couple of boxes of WWB .25 Auto, and a few boxes of .44 Magnum. That was it. Zero quantity of 9mm luger, .380ACP, .32, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .40 S&W or .45 ACP. They did have some .223 rifle ammo and other popular high power rifle loads. Shotgun shells are readily available, but pistol ammo is still virtually non-existent in many areas of the country.

I had some luck yesterday morning at two wal-marts.
I ended up with:
3 bxs Winchester 555 .22's
4 bxs Federal 375 .22's
6 bxs Federal 9mm 115gr fmj rn 50rds/bx

Scored at Wal_Marts - .22's & 9mm on Sunday.

At the gun show in Jackson, TN last saturday the ammo supply seems to have picked up some. Still nothing like it used to be, but better than it has been. I saw at least some ammo in most handgun calibers and many of the popular military rifle calibers as well.
However, prices are still outrageous!

Wait a minute. Those Federal bulk packs are defective. Last ones I bought at Wally's had 550. Those say 375. About 3 1/2 boxes worth short. Joe

That's what I was thinking.
Has Federal/Wal-Mart gone to thinking that they can make more on smaller quantities like on other items? Anyone know if the 550 rd box from Federal is still a "stock item?"

Was lucky at Wallys couple weeks ago with 9mm an 45 cal. Then the local gun store had 50+ cases of 38spl. and alot of other pistol ammo. You wonder if all the panic is just to sell stuff, after all this is America...

LOL, my wally world still has the same two boxes of 357 sig they've had for months. That has been the only constant handgun caliber in their case. The other stuff is hit or miss.

These Federal 375 bulk pk .22's at Wal-Mart are sold for less than the 550 rd bulk pk
by Federal. $11.97

Someone on another thread said Federal is still making both 375 & 550's
but the shipments will vary at Wal-Marts.

I got 6 boxes of the 375 count .22 at my local WalMart 3 days ago, first "bulk" .22 I had seen in months. Seems like the local gets a lot of 40 S&W, some 9mm, but not much else. It does seem to be loosening up though.

Saturday I bought several boxes of Federal 115 9mm, and a box of 100 count white laberl Winchester in .45 acp and left a lot more on the shelves. The had .44 mag, .38,.357, and plenty of .22's. This was at Wally World in Gulfport,Ms. I would have bought more but I have to brace up my ammo shelf first.

I am also seeing a little more stock at my Wally World and a couple of others I have been in lately.

It is not back to normal by any means but perhaps we are seeing the supplies start to catch up.

We did have a lot of demand after November 08.

I see enough .40, 9mm, and bulk .22 that I don't even buy it anymore.I am also seeing a little .45acp.

Yesterday I checked all the WalMarts in metro Lansing, MI --- no Federal .22 bulk pack to be had. Gander Mountain had Winchester bulk 550 rd "brass plated" at $30. Dicks had only a few high-priced choices. Cabelas in Dundee, Friday, had only odds and ends of weird .22 rimfire, all at exorbitant prices. No WWB .45ACP, Black Hills .223 55gr SP, or anything else I needed anywhere I looked in southern Michigan, same as here in metro Phoenix...
