Ammo Testing w/ Chronograph Data

Spent some quality time at the range today. Here is some ammo testing from a bench and a shooting bag.

Model M&P15-22 - A1 Style Comp
Barrel Length: 16"
Barrel Twist: 1 in 15"

85-90 Degrees - Light Breeze
Targets @ 50 yards
Chronograph @ 10ft
Chrono Data based upon 10 shots

Ran a boresnake through the barrel between each string

All data below:
0 - Failure to Feed
0 - Failure to Fire
0 - Failure to Eject

* In most cases the first round fed by closing the bolt
was the flyer in the group. 10/10 data is shown for all
shots, and 9/10 data is shown for the best 9 out of 10 shots.

Good grief-some of these groups I used to do with my ol' Remington .45ACP. Hard to believe that 4" groups are the best that some ammo can do with this rifle. I have a distinct feeling that .22 ammo ain't what it used to be.
I do thank all of you for your comments and help. My plan is to search for the food it likes, verified by shooting from a bench with a well anchored rest. I will tinker with the barrel and stock cap a little, and see what helps. (I still feel that the crux of my problem is the stock flex.) I feel confident that I'll eventually work into consistent 1 to 1.5" 25 yard groups. If by chance I can't, well hell, off to the gun show she goes for the best price offered- and maybe I switch over to tricking up a 10-22. Jeeze I'm 68 tomorrow, and I still love doing this stuff!

Since this was done 2 years ago it would be interesting to see the results using the mass produced ammo that is being sold now. That is if you can find it.

I'll gladly supply some Federal Automatch. That looks like a good, economical choice for a suppressed gun.

Some better ideas for accuracy would be to do what ammo testers usually do. Also some things to avoid specifically with the 15-22.

1.Take the quad rail cap off to free float the barrel.
2. Do NOT put any pressure on the quad rail as this will stress the barrel position relative to the sights.
3. Rest the barrel on the rest as close to the receiver as you can. Do not use a bipod on the quad rail.
4. Do not put your off hand anywhere near the quad rail. It should be under the stock supporting it.
5. Try to keep any of your weight from weighing on the rifle. Take a good but not hard grip on the lower receiver grip.
6. The rifle should sit very lightly on the rest. If you have to put any pressure on the rifle to make the sights line up for the shot it will warp the barrel to sight relationship.

Ammo- Doing a boresnake and nothing else between ammo is a problem. After any kind of barrel cleaning a .22 will not exhibit its best accuracy until enough rounds have gone thru the barrel for the ammo lube to season the barrel. Minimum 5, max is 1 rd per inch of barrel. If you are not doing this then the test is totally meaningless. I knew right awy there was an issue when Velocitors had the tightest group and it is going way above the sound barrier and coming down. The sub-sonics should have kicked every other rounds *** in group size.
