Ammo Thread Scores

CCI 1600 22LR

Received my package today, 1600 CCI 22 LR in a Plano case. I'm done for now, have 2000 M22's on backorder with Miday since 12/7/13, hope they come in some day. I do think it is starting to lighten up a bit on ammo, most all other calibers are available. Let's hope so! Thanks everyone on this board by keeping alot of us informed wher to find ammo. John

A shocking find at a local gun store that is known for inflated prices:

A case (5250 rounds) of federal bulk packs. $250 out the door. I am a happy camper!! Best price I have found any where in a long time...

I'd like to get mine, too. I don't know if there was supposed to be a limit on the Winchester 333 boxes but I scored 4 of those in an order a few days ago. When those backordered Minimags ship I'll be set for a quite a while.

Update: Winchester arrived today (the 357 mag was delivered yesterday ;) )

Thanks to this site I have accumulated a little more than 10k rounds for a decent price in the past several months.

I've got Swamp People CCI's on b/o since March as well. Also 1K Mini Mags on b/o that they have been trying to cancel on me every week but I won't let them... :p

Looks like my MiniMags are shipping, finally. :D Ordered in March iirc.

I've been buying the 36gr's from Target Sports recently, but these are the 40gr solids, which I am low on, so good timing.

I was able to score 6-50 count boxes of Federal Eagle 22lr for $2.49 from Dicks Sporting Goods this past week. For those who keep track of this stuff that is less than .05 per round. They had a 2 box limit and I bought 2. I thought it was funny that there was a guy in front of me with his wife and he was pushing a VERY old lady in a wheelchair. He gave cash to the old lady to buy her 2 boxes then bought his 2 boxes and then handed cash back to his wife for her purchase of 2. The sales associate seemed to think this was pretty funny and I had this picture in my of this guy calling his grandmother up and saying, "Get dressed quickly Granny, we're taking a trip to Dick's!"
Three days later I had an Dental appointment in town so I swung by again and to my surprise they still had dozens of boxes on the shelf as well as Winchester Super X 22lr 100 packs in the plastic slider box for $9.99. I bought 2 more of the Federal but turned down the Winchester because I had picked up 2 boxes at Wally World a few minutes earlier for $7.99, that's 7.9 pennies per round.
The following day I was in town again for some errands so I stopped by Dick's again and lo and behold they STILL had plenty of the Federal for $2.49 on the shelf so I got myself another 2 boxes. That's a total of a 4 day span that the Federal stayed on the shelf so it would appear that things are calming down. A few weeks earlier I got a 333 pack of $18.99 + 5% sales tax at Cabelas for a total of $19.93 or a bit less than .06 per round so the moral of the story is for everyone to stop paying 10-20 cents or more per round to these clowns on Gunbroker and other retailers and this madness will end sooner than later.

Look closer you may find they are only 40
Count boxes.

You are correct, there is no count listed on the box but when I opened the box and counted it was 40 rounds. It's funny, I have bought the Federal Eagle 22lr before and they shot fine in my guns but I never noticed it was 40 rounds, just assumed it was 50. Not as good a deal as I first thought but still only a hair over .06 per round which is a good price.

On the AE 22 boxes I've seen it is printed in yellow on the top of the box, under the eagle's beak.

The hollow points are packaged in 40 round boxes. The round noses are in boxes of 50. It's a weird deal. I have both.

I'm still waiting for my 1000 rounds from March 31st. I contacted Cabelas today to update my credit card info and customer service rep told me they expect the next shipment to arrive around Sept 30th.

Yup, that's where it has the count and damn it's really tiny printing! I was looking on the end of the box for the count.

Well I guess I was wrong, I got the email from Cabelas but nothing since, and the order still shows processing. I guess it was just a update to the backorder... :( Says 8/30, and it was 7/30 before. :(.

Been an unusual week. Visited the three big-box sports stores in my area and scored 3 bricks of Thunderbolts, a 333 box of Winchesters, and 8 50 round boxes of Federals. Average cost per round at just over .05. This after over a year of nothing on the shelves!

Indeed. I had a case of 5,000 mini-mags ordered 3/31... Unsure why their system let me order a case but it did... Shipped today!

Is there an "unlike' button... lol. Nice grab. They've never let me order more than qty 1 of anything... heck if you look back through the thread you can see my tales of woe in getting many orders canceled, most of which were qty 1 even...

Due to the ammo thread I've been able to stockpile a decent amount regardless, so I'm moving on to increasing my 5.56 and .45 reserves :). 45 is killing me though, I thought 5.56 was getting bad, but it's got nothing on 45acp. :(
