I went into the local farm store today for chicken feed..and holy crapo...They had cases of 1000 9mm ammo for a nickle under 500 bucks. I did not buy any as I have enough for me. Cheapest and most I have seen localy for quite a few months. They also had cases(flats) of some kind of 12 ga ammo for 20 bucks a box? Never heard of the brand.

Going rate across several online retailers that send me emails seems to be 40-50 cents per round for "white box" FMJ with brass cases. Premium defense 9x19mm is still $1 per round.

I went to the range Wednesday and they had cases of 9mm for $399. I stopped at an Academy on the way home and they had some Norma .22, and .380 and .45 ACP steel case (Monarch stuff) just sitting on the shelf out in the open. Everything looked like pretty normal prices.

DON'T BUY...............

They will respond to a boycott......

If you are new shooters you should be told that you are getting the shaft. If you are old shooters, you already know that.

My favorite LGS just got in a large shipment of ammo--mostly .223 and 9mm, quite a bit of 12 ga shotshells and slugs, some .45 .38 .357 but no .22s.

Ammo prices, as expected, are up--.223 is $449/500 rounds (55, 62 or 75 gr. fmj Federal). 9mm GDHP is $40/50, 9mm Federal ball is $22/50, and this shop doesn't gouge--their wholesale prices have gone way up since the last shipment a few months ago.

12 ga. target loads are what surprised me--a "case" (250 rounds) is now $100!

I'm still pretty well stocked but I'm on the list for 9mm GDHPs--IDK if I'm going to pick up any if they call me--I really don't shoot that stuff and while in the past I've turned a tidy profit in flipping my unused ammo, I've gotten tired of the game.

I was in Bass Pro Friday, and they had a reasonable stash of Winchester 100 packs in .45 and 9mm.

While I did not look at the pricing (no need for more), they had standard large pistol primers available. I picked up the five box limit of those.

How much were the primers? I'm guessing 5 boxes means boxes of 100, 500 total, yes?

I watch prices on GunBroker daily. Prices are coming down, still to high for my taste, but heading in the right direction.

Without some type of major country wide trauma, I think by fall, we could be getting ammo into reasonable price ranges....

Something told me to check Academy Sports, had 2 4 tray carts with all kinds of ammo. 200 rnds of 45 ACP for 109 clams, brass case too. Lots of assorted 223/5.56, 7.62x 39 AND Russian 5.56?x 45, first I've seen in years , lots of 9 mm. No 22 RF, 38;Spl. , .357 Mag., 380 or 32 auto. Didn't need any so just looked.
