Hey what's the normal amout of ammo rounds you keep in stock for your firearms. For me I like to keep 250 rounds in stock for each firarm. I know that's not a huge amount but I am comfortable with it. What say you ?
 
Stocked up on ammo until my husband got annoyed that I stored it all on his side of the closet. Enough for at least a couple of years worth of plinking for my three most used calibers.
 
Thousands of rounds works. I actually do that for 9mm, .223/5.56 NATO, and .308/7.62 NATO. I should keep more .38s and .357s around but I shoot them up so fast I am always a little short.
 
I like to keep a minimum of 200 rounds of self-defense ammo and 500 rounds of range ammo, per caliber. Like a lot of us here, I prefer to buy in bulk from web-based ammo dealers.

I don't have a 2.0, but I do have a Shield 9 and a SIG P320 9mm. My favorite range ammo for both of them is Winchester NATO 124g. I shoot it more accurately than other 9mm rounds, and it's often on sale for $10-11 per box. I also like Speer Lawman 124g.
 
Always buy it when it is on sale. And buy as much as your budget allows. There are lots of deals on the internet. Store it properly and you are good to go.
 
I like to keep enough on hand so when i go to the range, i dont need to worry about having nothing left after an hour of fun and practice. And when i see a good sale (w/ rebate, etc) on what I do use, i'll grab some more.
I dont buy brands or styles i dont use just for the sake of it (esp .22lr) though.
 
Can't help but wonder the majority of the members that are stocking thousands upon thosands of rounds. Would those members be single or married ? Reason for that question I am a married guy with a spouse that questions why I need more than one gun.:confused: . See where I am going with this ? :cool:

I don't have any idea, but I do believe it would take me several hours to inventory all of it. Then there are several thousand empty but primed cases that just haven't been loaded yet.
 
NORMAL. My idea of normal, might be your idea of paranoid. For me ammo is like money. I have enough to survive, but I will never have as much as I want.

I've been married 31 yrs, for far more years than I've been in this hobby (6). When I've been told by the wife that some of my guns look the same (multiple in the MP line); "yep they sure do".
She may shrug off when i pick up more ammo, but on the times she does hit the range with me and flies thru a few mags worth quickly..... she'll get it on how much ammo can be used up in an hour if we're playing around.

As I really have 2 hobbies, the other being photography that (after camera purchase) doesn't really cost much; it's not an issue when I use fun money for a purchase. And I gladly take her shopping, joking that I am her enabler lol.
 
I reload so I have more than I can shoot in the next few years. Loaded probably 5000 rounds of 9mm, 4000 rounds of 45acp, maybe 1000 rounds 38sp. A few hundred .308s and .222s. Enough powder, primers bullets and brass to load several thousand more. Not even going to count the 12ga shotgun shells. The last ammo draught got my undivided attention. Never thought it could happen.

In business or personal life, my defense against a micro-managing control freak is to broaden the issue until it gets on THEIR toes as well. example:
I'm budgeting my discretionary spending for $4K this year to cover my personal clothes, hobbies, and travel? Do you think you can limit yourself to that for your clothes, jewelry and trips with your sister?

Single but that's irrelevant to me. I have my hobbies and if everything else is covered I can spend on my hobbies within reason. If there's a problem with that place see your way out

Buy it when it's cheap...... or on a box a week program....for 40 years I've tried to buy it faster than I shoot it...........................


a stash is not a bad thing...... keep it cool and dry and it's got a 60+year shelf life.........................

Nails Hair, make up, clothes, shoes and a really expensive pocketbook. Holy cow I spend way less on guns and ammo. My wife has nothing to say.
