I am not a big sports fan. But I watch occasionally, especially sports/games of interest to my sons. My eldest is a big basketball/NBA fan.

So last night, looking for something to watch before bed, I watched an Amazon Prime documentary on Milwaukee's superstar basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo, AKA "The Greek Freak."

His is quite a story. I liked the documentary a lot, and found it quite moving. And I thought about how some of us here do not like professional sports because we think the athletes are overpaid, selfish, narcissists.

This guy's story is so different from the stereotype. His values align so well with most of us here. Family. Hard work. Humility. Loyalty. Care of others.

It is an engrossing documentary on a truly good man who is also an unbelievably talented athlete:

Well worth a watch.

I watched it with my grandson who like many 12-13 year olds, had NBA dreams.

Having been in Athens, I could really appreciate the plight of the many Africans I saw on their shores.

I used to like Lebron James a lot, but then he got full of himself and he doesn't like police officers. I wouldn't walk across the street to save him if he was on fire.

Then you would be no better than he.

The badge is to protect everyone, not just those that agree with us.

Lots of folks I don't care for, as I am sure there are a WHOLE BUNCH that don't care for me. Never affected how I did my job that I took an oath to do or how I lived my life with a certain moral code.

Just my opinion.

I will have to check out the documentary. Not a huge B-Ball fan but can appreciate at good story about a good person.

Lots of good athletes out there giving time or money to worthy causes. It might be working a food line or visiting children in a hospital.

It's not hard to separate those appreciative of their success from the ones who think it's never enough.
