I started with model 17-4 in 1992. It's spent most of its time bumming around in the woods. Then in 2001 I decided I needed a target 38 special. So I answered and ad in the classifieds for old guns for sale. What I found was a K38 I fired in the box. The gentleman said he bought it for home defense. He loaded it and never shot it. In 2005 my uncle and shooting buddy passed away. My aunt graciously gave me his gun collection. In there was a colt officers model match 22lr. That has lead me to search for a officers model match in 38 special. I found that very gun on Saturday. I have the original grips for all of the guns. It only took 28 years to find four gun i never thought I wanted when I bought the first one.

Very nice! I seem to be headed down the same road. I have a pre-WWII K-22 and Colt OMT .22, and a early 50s K-38. Just need a similar era OMM .38 to complete the set.

It's really amazing how those unintended quests get started and how much of an obsession they can grow into......

Tom I think I might just start looking for the 32's. What's 28 more years of poking around online auctions and old gun shops. No harm could come from that right????

I too have a similar pairings , 22´s - 8-3/8 inch model 17 vs 8 inch trooper mkIII and 38´s - 6 inch model 14 vs 6 inch officers model match . I love all of them and not the slightest difference in accuracy between them.

OP, very nice! Funny how things work out like that. I bought my first M28 in 1968. Traded it for a Browning Hi power in 71( still have it). For 50 years I wanted another M28. Just 1. In 2 years I got 6. Never started out that way:)
