I have been eyeballing one of these for a while. I am curious. Do you know how the action compares to the old Python in terms of smoothness and quality feel? I have not been able to play with either the new Python or this gun. Gun writers in the gun rags all have their opinions, but I would like to hear if from someone who is not getting paid for a positive evaluation.

This is a new-to-you vintage Anaconda, right? Some of the comments sem to be referring to the current production model. Any idea when yours was made and how much it's been shot?

It’s brand new, and never been shot. That situation will be rectified as soon as I have a chance to spend some time in my reloading room.

Well, this is purely anecdotal, but at one point, I had a ‘68 and ‘77 Python. The new Pythons are to me, superior to both in DA, and inferior in SA. The Anaconda is even smoother in DA, and slightly better in SA than the new Pythons. Fit and finish is really unbelievably good on all 3 of mine.

Thank you kindly. That is exactly the type of info that I was hoping to get. I forget to mention that I have an older Python, circa 1969. That would be the gun that I would be comparing it too.
