Anchorage hit by 7.0 and 5.8 earthquake

I live 365 miles from the epicenter and felt the shaking for a full minute. Picture below shows damage near Anchorage International airport. In 1964 Anchorage had a 9.2 magnitude which lasted over 4.5 minutes. No reports so far of serious injury.

My fathers lives about 20 miles away front the epicenter. He said it shook the hell out of his house. Lot's of damage to stuff inside but no structural damage that he knows of.

Got a email from my bud who lives near the epicenter.

He faired well. Already has a lot of his tall furniture and tv's anchored to the wall. Apparently they are used to a little shake now and then.

Anything on a shelf fell off. Local roads are damaged, but he knows of no injuries.



Guess they'll blame the president for the earthquake too. LOL!
