For fun, let's see what you've got. Not what you had, I could do that and take a very long time and show a lot of black dogs plus a few other animals but I'm sticking to current events. My current black dogs:

Morticia - 10 years old - - she spent 18 months at the local SPCA and was so cantankerous - not to mention timid and unadoptable - that they gave her that "Adams Family" name and I kept it:

Morticia is the big one in front of the fireplace. We're not counting the other dog.

Midnight - 1 year old - the shelter she was at had that name on her so I kept it because I really liked it:

Angel the crazy German and Snow the White Rabbit. Baby Bambi behind the shed. Angel turned two one month ago, Snow is probably 5 or 6 now. The fawn is still around.
They aren't black but they identify as whatever gives them the most cash in their monthly checks.
Midnight looks pretty cool!

Down to 1 cat now. Matilda, found her as a kitten 5 years ago on the wrong side of the tracks downtown. A sweetheart. Not sure who possesses whom.

Kelly & Luna

My two female German Shepherds, Kelly and Luna are a bright shinning light in my life. Kelly is age 6 (first photo) and Luna age 2 1/2 (second photo). Kelly, we bought from a local ranch (horses, cattle, and dogs) breeder at age 9 weeks. Both are AKC registered. Luna was a rescue from a military family at age 11 months. She had a number of medical/behavior issues at first but has become a very loving member of the family. They are by my side 24/7 and I could not think of a time without them. They are loyal, loving, protective and fearless. Luna and I have bonded closely and she sleeps at my bedroom door. They are great with kids and family members. We live in a remote area and feel safe with these ladies who are on duty, always! PS. The date on the photos is wrong, photos are recent.

I usually have a cat and a dog. My last dog died 1 1/2 years ago and a very young cat and her kitten showed up at my back door last fall. I was planning to take them to a shelter, but the old cat didn't mind so I now have three cats [emoji4]
