I never would have choosen an Aussie as the breed was never on my radar.
Yet here she is a joy to own and keeping the old couple busy everyday,

Thanks WardenRoss , I owe you one . Bruce51 , I hear you . My other 2 Aussie's are a handful from the moment they wake up . I don't know if being littermates causes that , but I'm sure it's a contributing factor . People that meet them can't believe they just turned 7 .
Cherrypointmarine, we all know that you have already made your decision to take him so stop dithering and just do it! Based on the picture alone, I’m ready to make the drive to Florida right now to get him if you said no but I know you are already committed to him.

Bastogne71 , you never know . Her dogs have been shipped all over the US , one went to Spain to go on the show circuit in Europe . He's in Miss. right now , coming back with one of her other dogs that's gone to a couple of shows . It's going to be hard to say no , I'll keep y'all informed .

If you want or can handle another dog, take him. If not pass.
I am down to two dogs, that is enough, my wife asks about adding to the pack, I tell her to pick the one that has to go because two is the limit.

The Australian Shepherd
Two Guardian Angels and their entourage were traveling across the Spanish countryside. Tired, hungry and needing rest, they detected the aroma of a roasting lamb.
Following the aroma they came upon a shepherd tending the fire. "Kind shepherd, we are famished, may we barter for your roasted lamb?"
The shepherd surveyed the Angel's assembly. "I'll take that dog!"

We have had a lot of both male and female Schnauzers over the years. It just depends on the dog. The absolute best was a female (Madison - RIP!) , but several mails were also great dogs. Once neutered, none of our males had any libido except one who is just wired that way regardless of ability or now age. If i liked the breed, gender would not hold me back.

Bringing a male to live with a female usually works well. None of the Girl-girl or boy-boy tension that can happen.
Get him fixed, it will make him much happier, especially without having to live with a constant sex drive and need to be alpha.
