Lots of experience - with full production units.
You're gonna need high voltage supply and several highly caustic HAZMAT chemicals, and a disposal permit, etc.
Better to open the yellow pages and talk with some professional shops in your area. Pay the small-lot fees and get it done correctly (safely).

There's a guy over on rimfirecentral that does anodizing.
The folks that anodize alloy scope rings for Talley Mfg. are an hour up the road from me, I'm thinking they told me the minimum charge was $85.

Ya also have to remove any steel pins or inserts.

I have an old magazine article devoted to assembling a home anodizing set-up. It mentions using RIT fabric dye to color the anodizing.

The cost of all the paraphenalia to anodize at home would exceed the minimum charge at a commercial plater. You'll be money ahead by far by letting the pro's handle your anodizing needs. Most gun bluing firms send their anodizing work to commercial platers. If you only have a few small parts and the $75.00-$85.00 is more than you want to spend, Brownell's Aluma-hyde which is a spray on baking lacquer type finish is a good alternative. It yields a finish almost as durable as anodizing, check out Brownell's website for further details.
