Picked up my 6906 from CDNN @ my favorite FFL dealer (Empire Gun & Pawn). I would definitely rate the 6906 between good and very good. Whoever carried this gun didn't believe in cleaning it! Looked like 200 rounds were shot thru it and then they never cleaned it. Aside from some scratches on the frame and grip, it looks really good. Gave it a good cleaning and ready to take it to the range this weekend.

I need to get one of these before they are all gone and the pinheads put them up on GB or AA, thinking they will make a fortune on them.

I got a 5906 about 8 months ago, and it was a Puerto Rican Police trade in, almost perfect condition, and it was actually clean! Then I got a really nice 4506, another trade in, and well, it was the exact opposite of clean. There was an amazing load of unburned powder in it, along with a couple of hunks of brass (looked like the extractor ripped off a couple of chunks when it was shot and they went down inside the frame until I blasted it out with brake cleaner.

Lately, I've bought several guns that were just filthy, inside and out. I bought a Tanfoglio 9mm that had been sitting so long that a spider had set up shop in the mag and had a really elaborate web set up inside it. Hands down, it had the nastiest mags I've ever seen. All three were full of junk and I ended up having a friend of mine who owns a jewelry store toss them into his ultrasonic cleaner to get all the crud out. They came out looking brand new.

Congratulations on the new 6906, mine was a cop trade-in to but still looks real good after cleaning, carried alot shot little by the department that had it i gess. Hope you enjoy your new pistol.

Your 6906 looks really nice. Did you use anything special to clean up the slide and frame, and if so, what did you use? I have seen a few police trade ins (not from CDNN) that had definite stains on the slide (despite being stainless), and I was just curious what would be the best way to clean them up.

I was lucky that the slide was in very good condition with a few minor scuffs. The frame has some minor scratches. After giving it a good cleaning, I wiped it all down with CLP.

My 5906 came from CDNN with more scuffs. Since it's stainless steel, I did some gentle passes with a green scotchbrite pad. It came out great.

Went to the range with the 6906 yesterday. Ran thru 150 rounds: 100 Federal 115g FMJ & 50 Federal 115g JHP. Had only 2 jams and they were mag related. The mag failed to load the last round. This was the mag that came with the pistol. Otherwise my MecGar 15 rounders with the S&W baseplate extenders and other S&W 12 rounders worked flawlessly.

This gun is fun to shoot! Accurate and feels good in the hand.

I will probably change out the main hammer spring for a lighter one to reduce the DA/SA trigger pull a bit.

Great gun for the price.

My CDNN 6906 had one barely visable scratch on it. After a good clean and lube it functioned flawlessly. Great bargin and will join the carry squad when I finish the Kydex holster I'm making for it.

I got a 6906 and 5906 when CDNN was clearing them out NIB. Liked them so much I then got one of each used from them, it was hard to tell the new from the used! I have never had a bad experience from CDNN, and have bought quite a few guns from them, including just about one of every Smith they offered. Great deals a few years ago on the K stainless revolvers.
The 6906 and 5906 may be the definitive carry 9mms for LE and HD/PD. Built like tanks and just about foolproof. I would get another one or so, but the disadvantage of having a spouse who is a cop is that she knows one gun from another and the "that old thing?" excuse does not work.
Great guns.........

669

I saw those 6906s in CDNN's last catalogue and went to the store to get them to order one for me...while there I looked in the used S&W case and spied a nice little 669. I bought it instead. It was dirty inside but the outside looks as if it has never been carried. It cost me a few dollars more than CDNN's prices but it was worth it to walk out of the store with it. I did order 6 spare mags from CDNN and they are nice, as well.

I have a 6906 on the way from CDNN. Should be here next Tuesday (10/4). I will report back when I clean it up and shoot it. I hope I get a good one.

I think I got a nice clean one, look at the photo
