As Homer (that would in my parlance be Homer Simpson..) would say --- "Boooooring!" The local broadcast TV fare is inane and dumbed down to an embarrassingly puerile level, and even what's labeled as "news" is brain-dead and idiotic. That there's an audience for this drivel and pablum is disturbing.
I, however, have developed an alternative strategy for those times during which I can't devote my attention to a book and need both hands free for a few minutes --- the marvel of DVD recordings --- recently on review, The Honeymooners, still, as then, as smart and funny as today's The Simpsons, and Rocky, and Bullwinkle, and Friends, witty and satirical, sometimes silly, sometimes sophisticated, always entertaining.
