Another box reflocked by Joe Cebull

Are the presentation box's ok to store the guns in, or should they only be used for displaying (showing off) the gun?

How rare is the presentation box for the 27-2 with the 3 1/2" barrel. Seems like I never see them on these type threads.

Storage?

Hey ben_g1
Storage in these restored cases is a question every collector must answer himself! There were 4 different types of liners used in these cases from 1960-1983 and many guns were shipped from the factory IN THE CASE! I'm sure this caused many cases to be cracked during shippment to the different gun shops. All my N frame guns are stored in period correct cases. Many are original but some are restored. I would caution the collector against using profuse amounts of oil on the gun as it WILL stain the new flocking and/or cloth! Probably the best way to store in the case is to use Renaissance Wax!

I'll say up front that although I haven't had a case done by Joe yet, I enjoy chatting with him @ OGCA, and not to hijack the thread, but is anyone aware of a K-frame presentation case other than the Texas Ranger types? I would like to have a nice nest for my Project 616 now that it is done, and an original appearing wood case sounds pretty attractive. Of course with the full under lug, it wouldn't fit in the standard TR case, but I would need that 4" size. Any ideas out there?

I have a 27 with the 3.5" barrel, presentation cases for them are incredibly rare....so, i was thinking, why not have one of the guys doing the kydex holsters mold you a lower liner(tray), then send that to jcelect to be flocked, the kydex comes in many thicknesses, and it would hold up way better than the original liners...... you could then make it for any size gun and accessories you wanted, right?
