I've been thinking about changing my cell service from Verizon to Spectrum. Spectrum uses the Verizon towers and Spectrum says the service will be the same. Does anyone use the Spectrum cell service and if so are you satisfied with it?
Thanks

"Spectrum Mobile vs Verizon: Coverage

Since Spectrum Mobile uses the Verizon network to provide its wireless service, you can expect similar coverage on Spectrum Mobile and Verizon. The only caveat is that during busy times on the network, Verizon prioritizes its own customers over MVNOs like Spectrum Mobile."

Difficult question as there are so many players in the cell phone game today including lots of MVNOs. About all I can say is that we switched to T-Mobile about two years ago and are completely satisfied with coverage and service. Two phones, unlimited use, $30+tax per phone per month each. There may well be better deals out there among the MVNOs.

I would not be that concerned about going with a decent, known MVNO access company for a better rate.

Shop around and see what you can get.

I have Xfinity cell service (through our cable provider). At first I was very hesitant to deal with a secondary provider but then I found out they use Verizon's lines and towers! After being ripped off by Verizon Wireless for 35 years I switched to Xfinity and their service is exactly the same as Verizon's. I can not tell any difference except my bill went from $145/ month to $60 for two lines - unlimited calls, texting and data!

The reason Verizon is doing this and allowing other sellers to use their towers and cell sites is because they were loosing market share to discounter's. This way they still capture market share and even though they are making less profit, they don't cheapen their original name and service marketed under Verizon. They are also able to justify holding their prices under the Verizon name for people who are unaware of what is happening or just don'r care. I'd say give it a shot!

Before I moved to Arizona I had Spectrum service in Maine. It worked fine, no issues. The only reason I switched is that when I moved the signal was spotty at my new home location.

One big difference is customer service.

Spectrum has their own Customer Service Agents and I don't know how good/bad this is.

I'm the last one to ask. The only reason I have a cell phone is that Miss Judy gave me her old one because she doesn't like me going into the mountains with the pack string by myself. Of course, I don't think there's any coverage up there, but I throw it in the truck anyway just to keep her happy.

I don't know the number. In fact, half the time, I don't even know where it is...much less who our carrier happens to be. Sorry I can't be of more help.:)

I've been using Cricket since 2015. Two 'smart' phones - $60/mo unlimited. 5g.
No contract.
No problems.
YMMV
From what I have seen, looks like the current going rate is around $30/phone/month from all services. Probably not that many differences among them today. Might just shop for the best price, introductory deals, etc. I would not want to be locked into any long term contract that would prevent me from bailing out if I didn’t like it.

I have both.(Verizon and Spectrum) Not because I "need" two phones..it's just cheaper to "bundle" a phone and internet with Charter/Spectrum than just have internet service. True! Seems insane..but it's their game.

Anyways..I would NEVER give up my Verizon phone to just have a Spectrum phone. Verizon phone works all the time and never drops a call(in my area).

Spectrum service sometimes doesn't even work at my house! Their phone mostly sits on the kitchen counter as a "house" phone (if it works at all)

Here's a little tip that Verizon doesn't tell you about, and you have to drill down into their website to find; if you do a monthly(no contract) "prepaid" plan with them...it cost 1/2 as much ($30/month) as their cheapest yearly plan ($60/month) with the same limitations (it has unlimited calls/texts and 1gb data, which is way more than I need)

One thing to be aware of with MVNOs - many of them do not offer roaming coverage. The big boys all offer roaming onto smaller networks in areas where they don't have native coverage. An MVNO running on, say AT&Ts network may not offer the roaming areas that AT&T does. In other words, the MVNOs coverage area may be somewhat smaller than that of the network on which it runs. Of course that's only important if you travel to or live in those (mostly sparsely populated) areas.

I am unfamiliar with Verizon and Spectrum but both seem to be solid companies with good support.

If you're looking for endorsements I am dangerously close to getting a T-Mobile tattoo.

If you are a veteran or first responder T-Mobile is top shelf. They have treated me OUTSTANDING.
I am not, but the people at the nearby T-Mobile shop (there is one about a half mile from me) have always been very helpful if we ever needed any assistance on a problem or need to know how to do something on the cell phone.
