Another how much is it worth thread - 627-2

Square butt. From the age of it, I would hazard a guess that those are the right stocks for it. Not sure if the frame is round or square, if round then the stocks may be round to square conversion stocks.

SO what was the final price if I may ask ? I would love to get something like that, it's on my want list along with a few other stainless models.

I don't mind you asking at all, $750. Plus a few hours on the road and some gas.

But seeing that I got to have lunch with two great friends I'll add the drive time and gas to the lunch so it cost me nothing to go get it. :D

I like the grips a lot. They look like the Hogue Monogrips on another one of my pistols. They fit me perfect and I can't wait to shoot it.

To restate the obvious

You got a great deal Kenny, an uncommon highly desirable S&W for a price that I would say was fair 15 years ago. I'd pay double that and walk away thinking I got a smoking deal. But then I am one of those .357 collector guys who has to have at least one of every variation.

.357s are my favorite too but I'll never have one of each.

I do have a 640-1, 60-14, 27s, a 28-2, 686s and now this 627-2.

I am going to pick up a M520 in another week or two.

Then I'm done. :D

I started this 627 business by searching for a 5 inch full lug with a fluted cylinder. I still don't have one and have been thinking lately they were a figment of my imagination!! Thanks for showing yours, Mokuloa!! You realize what this means??

Rubirance: I'm really glad you got that one! You absolutely found a deal!!

Congratulations.

Thank you, I'm pretty happy with it myself.

Its another gun that the first time I saw it I had no interest in it. The second time.............

Well you know the story.

I'm looking forward to shooting this one. As soon as my ammo for my M58 shows up I'm going to the range. :D

Thank you.

Does anyone know what they would look like so I might start looking for some?
No it did not come with tools. Everything pictured in the box looks how ot came from the factory. Also you stole that. I would venture to say in good market 4000 gun you got there maybe more. I seen the 6 inch unfluted one couple months ago bring almost 4000 and a loose one seen bring 2000. You stole the 5 inch. The dash 2 guns are pretty darn rare to come across as I beleive they were left over parts guns.

Thanks Eric.

How I stold this is a case of both the seller and buyer having no idea what it was and how much it was worth.

I had pretty much already decided that I wanted it before I posted any pictures. If it had a much higher price tag I wouldn't have picked it up.

For sure I lucked out on this one because I really like it and cant wait to put a few rounds thru it.
