Another K-32 question

I was very lucky a few years ago and was able to purchase one of the early tapered/thin barreled K-32's. After checking posts that I have copied and pasted from this forum, I see where it was posted that only 3,630 post WWII K-32's were made between 1947 and 1973. Does anybody have an approx. idea of how many of the early tapered/thin barreled K-32's were made??

That's a little hard to say. Probably only a few hundred K-32s were shipped with narrow ribs before the heavy rib barrels became available as an alternate, but who knows how many narrow rib guns were still in inventory when the heavy rib guns became available. Also, for a couple of years the narrow and heavy rib guns were made simultaneously so buyers could take their pick.

I would guess that a third to a half of all postwar K-32s (excluding the Model 16-4, which is a special case) were narrow-rib guns. But if somebody could prove to me that only 25% of production (or about 900 units) were narrow rib guns, I wouldn't be particularly surprised.

Ken,

Can you post a photo of yours? I can never see too many of these scarce 32s. You said it has the early tapered/thin barrel but you didn't say that it had a rib.
