I live in Nomandy, France.

I am 71 and when I was a young guy, I play cowboys and indians with my neighborhood friends.

In 1984 I created and managed a shipyard where we built more than 300 crewboats for one client who exploited them in West Africa. It was for me the realization of a child's dream, and so I never worked even if I spended all my life time in my shipyard.

When I retired I took time for my others passions, among which the Black powder revolvers, in relation with the games of my childerness.

Recently I discover the pleasure that procure another kind of revolver, the Smith & Wesson ones.

Today in parallel to my collection of my 15 black powder revolvers, I begin another collection of mythic S&W revolvers.

At the moment I own only three S&W models:
34-1, 10-8 and 22-4 of 1917.

I fear that I will not stop there (I look for a mod 27-2 a,d mod 29), so nice these revolvers are, but my ambition will be necesseraly limited by what allowss my finance...

I practice shooting with all my guns (black powder, but also Colt SAA 1873, Winchester 1894, Colt 1911 and now my S&W) every monday, what means that I shoot about 100 cartridges with each gun over a year, what can explain my low talent as shooter.

Thanks for your welcoming on board.

Welcome aboard Francois. I must forewarn you that we are all enablers here! But a man has to have a passion, and this is a good one. Interesting that we all, as youngsters, played similar games which led us down this path. Just shows how similar we all are, even half a world away.

This monday morning, it's a realpleasure to read your messages of welcoming. Thanks to all of you.
Throught Lafayette and the GI our countries have a great relationship tradition of mutual assistance in the hard moment of our story.
Today, through S&W forum I feal proud to join this tradition, but for moments of shared passion.

Welcome to the forum! I hope you continue enjoying your hobby!

Welcome. My ancestors left Normandy during the Norman Conquest of England. I appreciate the care the Normans have taken of the graves of our Soldiers.

Nice to meet a cousin!
The maiden name of my granmother paternal side was Neel. I have danish blood in my veins.
When I visited the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville Sur Mer I have been greatly moved, and for a long moment I remains silencious thinking to these young guys who died so far from their home. We, French people, have toward them a duty of memory.
Thanks for welcoming
