Another "N" frame question

Just bought M25-2 # S 238XXX. What year, and what type box? Wood or paper. If paper, solid, or broken silver line? Thanks, Big Larry

If you are inquiring about year of the revolver, reading from what I have, the serial number places it around late 1964 to early 1965, I do not know about the box.

Nice Model 25-2, Larry. According to the "SCSW 4th Ed.", mahogany presentation cases were available as an option for N-frame revolvers beginning in 1960, so your 1964 Model 25-2 could have had a case if the original owner ordered one (but who knows?). However, SCSW only mentions a case being standard delivered with the 1974 Model 25-2 for the 125th Anniversary Edition. Yours was probably originally shipped in a 2-pc blue box with a solid silver line around the edge. I'm sure that Doc44 will be along shortly to comment and provide us with definitive information.
