Looking to upgrade my old 20cf National.

Wonderful but woefully small these days.

I can get a decent trade in on a 35cf "Fatboy" from National.

Need more room.

I wouldn't trade it unless there was just no way I enough room for both safes.

I'd recommend just adding a safe because no matter how big you get, you will be able to fill it.

I state that as a guaranteed fact, which it is.

I agree 100% If you have room for both, keep it. You'll need it eventually. A friend of mine claims he doesn't collect guns, he collects safes.

Let me add one other tid-bit...
Or let me ask a question...anyway:

Have you ever been through a burglary or house fire?

Those who have been through such a traumatic event, even after many years, will store things in a safe that many other people may not.

CD's, family pictures, deeds, cash and coin, collectibles, cameras, film, any important paperwork, and the list goes on! If it physically can be put in the safe, it will be!

One thing though, buy a small fire-resistant box made especially for storage of media items (film, CD's, hard drives, etc.) in which to place any temperature sensitive items, and then store it inside the safe. Better to have extra protection than not enough is my motto.

Of course, I don't have anything of merit that would require purchasing a safe since all my stuff was lost in a tragic boating accident.

The last safe I bought is an old one but it's close to two tons! I could have purchased a pretty nice safe for what I just paid the moving company. It will stay with the house.

My plan, too.

Besides, if someone breaks in, they can spend their free time smashing into two safes instead of just one.
