Another New Python Variant Announced

Love what Colt’s been doing the past few years when it comes to revolvers. This makes a nice addition to the roster. And I don’t care what people say, but I’ve handled the new Colt’s and out of the box the trigger pulls and polishing rank above what their competitors are putting out. The only complains from me are the price they demand.

Without delving into collections and history, I like this new Python! I'm not normally a fan of unfluted cylinder either, but this one doesn't look like they just skipped a manufacturing step and called it "custom".

It looks all business, but darn classy too!

All the comparing S&W and Colt back and forth! It makes my heart sing with joy! It reminds me of the mid eighties when people used to compare a S&W 686 to a Python without the Python having magical attributes due to collectibility and scarcity.

I like it, except for those grips... they'd definitely have to go. Say what you will about the new Colts, but I wouldn't even dream of purchasing a new S&W.

Videos are starting to pop up.

I happen to like the new variation and would be an immediate buyer if the Combat Python roll mark was used (even though I already have a 3", a 6" and am waiting for my 2.5" to be delivered).

It is great to see Colt/CZ investing in revolvers and expanding their line. I am rooting for their continued success and hope that it will bring even more variations that may eventually become collectible, such limited runs, different finishes, custom shop offerings, and the like. Seems to me that these recent releases are a step towards that.

The main focus of my revolver collection are 3" S&Ws. All are from no dashes to dash 4s at the most. The newer S&Ws may be great shooters, but the modern Pythons are a lot more appealing to me than anything in the current S&W lineup. Colt did a great job bringing back a classic, modernizing it, improving its strenght, and not botching its design. Kudos to Colt for that!

Cheers,
686PC

As I stated in a Colt forum, Colt needs to fix the trigger (smooth face) and the rear sight instead of putting lipstick on a pig. So far I own 2 2020 Pythons, a 3 inch and a 4.25. Will probably get a 2.5 and a 5 inch as funds become available.

My sentiments exactly and I would include the silly QR code. I have the 2.5, 3 and 4 inchers. Not likely to get a 5 or 6, unless I find one at a fire sale price.
