Friday I picked up my model 357 Night Guard. This adds 41 Magnum to the 10MM and 357 Magnum NG revolvers that I already own.

Scandium frames are one of the nicest things to come along is wheelguns in many years. It is wonderful to be able to carry an N-frame revolver with the weight of a K-frame.

Now I just need some time to get to the range with it.

175 grain Silvertips would be great in either the 41 or the 10mm for factory loads. Now if you had the 396 44 Special NG, you would have 4 of the best of the NG's. Bob!

Hey, that's a nice group of Night Guards. I am really interested in how they all function. I only have the 310 and after some tweaking it works great. I also agree 100% about the weight of these N-frame guns. They are great for carrying.

When you get back from the range with .41, let me know how it feels when you light one off.
I've been reluctant to buy a 357NG because I already know how it feels to shoot a M&P 340.
So if you are still able to type when you return from a range session with the 357NG, I would be very interested in the your results, opinions and recommendations.

This is yet another one that I wish they would change or update how they do the model numbers....

I do like your NG collection. I still wish they had done a three inch NG option as well. I'm still a little leary of the aluminum scandium alloy frame but I guess the warranty will be there to protect you. It just makes me curious what will happen to them all fifty years down the road. Will they be hyper rare? Will they be replaced with 3D copied versions that don't look the same when you send them in for new frames??? I still might buy that 310 if it keeps setting in the LGS long enough.

The 310 is GREAT. Like my 610s I have opened up the cylinder so that the revolver can also shoot 10MM Magnum

It won't bother me. I already shoot the 19 ounce Taurus 415T with Remington 170 SJHP over 26.5 grains of H110. The Night Guards weigh several ounces more.

Plus I shoot 10MM Magnum out of the 310NG.

It might not be FUN but it can be tolerated

I have two NG revolvers a 396 and a 315. I was looking to get one in 44 or 357 mag and I was wondering how the Scandium frames hold up to magnum loads?

I have a 327 NG. I think it's ***** cat; not as bad as a steel frame 29 with 240 magnum loads. I also have a 340PD but I haven't shot it with magnum loads yet. I shot a lot of 44 mags, and 357 mags over the years and I really didn't think the 327 NG with magnum loads was any bid deal.

@colt_saa

Where did you buy your Model 357 Night Guard? I've been trying to locate one for many months. I received email from S&W that "it has been discontinued due to lack of interest." However, its still listed on their website as out of stock and has been for the last seven months.
