Another "offended" person.

I have no problem with Nazi-relic bring backs. Heck, my grandfather had a P.38 that I'm really hoping to get from my uncle at some point.

But the guys who deal Nazi memorabilia at gun shows scare the **** out of me. Many of them really appear sympathetic to the cause...

One of the downsides was that the show was being held in a local civic center and down the hall there was a B'nai B'rith meeting at the same time. Ended up that we were asked to not to come back and to find a different meeting hall...

When I was growing up in the 50's and 60's every second basement had a Jap rifle or a German Helmet or other bring back souvenirs that were brought back by America's hero's of which included my father and many of my uncles.

I'm offended that so many of my fellow Americans have become such over sensitive girly boys.

I wonder if he got his love life sorted out and found out who broke into his apartment. On the other hand I am still enjoying the BBQ tools he sent me. I sure hope nothing ever happens to him. He said he was going to send me his cat in that event.

He was a little different but harmless. I kind of felt sorry for him and wish him well and hope that not too many people in his new cyber home are picking on him.

First off, you promote Freedom of Speech, based upon your comments, to allow the original post, but my Freedom of of speech to disagree is invalid, wrong, or unnecessary.

That by it's own merits deems your post as invalid and poorly thought out, bases upon the comments in your post!

If I posted a comment that I'm a collector of Jewish bones, burned in German ovens, would you on the same premise, consider them to be OK?

I do not see where the OP said your comments were invalid,wrong. Just that he thought they were of poor taste.

Kind of like your newest shame on you post.
I gotta laugh when I see posts like that.

Funny what some are willing to post on a forum but likely wouldn't say in person.
 
And the truth is I am getting more and more upset at all of this national news "I am offended". Every day you see more and more of this with things you can not say or do as it offends a person. This is like an older science fiction book where everyone is supposed to be the same so no one is offended. Yes I could just stop reading the paper and listening to the news.:D

You shouldn't have to explain anything, you posed the questions in the proper forum.

Nice relics though, if I was a Nazi blade collector I'd be talking to you.
 
Man, for some reason this thread just set me off. I love history, both good and bad. Seeing a collection of Nazi knives doesn't offend me in the slightest - it actually spurred interest. The knives didn't create the Nazi movement any more than blaming guns for gun crimes. I'd be proud to have them in my possession - looking at style, craftsmanship, and wondering what the hidden history / story they could tell. They are a part of history. I'm not pro Nazi, nor Jewish, but I have spent a lot of time in Israel, and countless days in Yad Vaschem in Jerusalem. Each visit was a full day of tears and meditation. I've donated a lot of money for the planting of trees commemorating those lost to the holocausts, and even adopted a Holocaust victim, Malka Margareta Korn 5-23-1890 - murdered in 1943. What the Nazi movement did to these people is unforgivable - but the items they used aren't to blame - they're HISTORY. Just because someone gets offended by looking at something, shouldn't keep you from sharing them with those with thicker skins. Those knives are, to me, well worth keeping. Can't help but think of the confederate statues that were destroyed because some weak minded person (s) were offended. They are also HISTORY.
