Another route for Shield Mags

Just got online with Cabela's and ordered a 7 and 8 round mag. Site says 4 to 6 weeks.
I have had a pair of 8 round mags ordered from S&W since June curious to see which one come first

Both SA and Ruger are supplying mags much faster than this.

A gun without enough mags is close to being a fancy hammer...

I bought 2 new (7 & 8 rd) magazines from fleabay. 2 days to my door for $75, free shipping. They are $39 ea from the local stores (when in stock).

One of my LGS's had 7 or 8 hanging on the wall. 2 8's and the rest 7's. I grabbed one of each at $42.99 plus tax. I figured that the online ones I had seen were in the high $30's so with shipping I was looking at $40 so the extra few bucks seemed a no brainer to have them in hand. At the time, I still hadn't received the shield from the FFL in PA.

Now I have the whole kit with 2 7's and 2 8's. The 8's feel better in the hand but the 7's feel better in the pocket so the verdict is still out on how I will carry it. Range time will hopefully be some time next week so that will help in making the final decision.

I just checked my order confirmation email from S&W, it's been since April for me also. I've seen 7 round mags around, but 8 round mags are pretty scarce.

i just checked on ebay for Shield magazines, some decent prices. every couple though, you get that wacko that wants $100 for one magazine. good luck with that one buddy!

Update: Picked up two 7 round mags from Cabela's and two 7 round mags from Midway.
Given up on the 8 round mags for now.
Will be calling S&W Monday and cancelling my mag order from June.

I ordered an 8 round mag for Shield 9mm from S&W Aug 19 and had it 2 weeks later...?? Lucky? Something doesn't seem right. If midway has them then S&W shouldn't be backordered.

I sent my shield 9 in for warranty service a few months ago and they sent it back with a 7 round mag in the box for free. There is some kind of disconnect there if they can just give them out for free.

6 month wait but glad I finally have them.

In the past two weeks I bought a 7 rounder from Midway and a pair of 8 rounders off of eBay. All S&W OEM.

That is all I need now, combined with the two factory provided ones.

The 7 rounder was pretty "cheaply" priced. The 8's a bit on the high side but not outrageous. Relatively speaking. And had free shipping.
